Just got on the ferry to Spain at Portsmouth, thought we were going to Santander and planned supermarket stop and overnight at

Santillana del Mar.​

But! ferry is to Bilbao

Any idea's for first night please?

not that fussed about driving too far, our ferry back is not until 3rd August, from Dieppe.

Well it was originally to Santander, but they changed the ship from my favourite the Port Avon to whatever we are on now, think its one of those Chinese ones and the commodore rooms are nowhere as nice! But the lounge is okay

On arrival at Bibao why not go west to your original destination of Santillana del Mar as it is only about 100km / 60 miles, mainly motorway, so would take just over an hour.

Got online today, going to head to Miranda de Ebro for night, then head towards Burgos, from there towards Galicia, as I've not been to that area before.

lovely interesting walk around the castle.
Santiago de Compestela,
the end of the comino trail for some and very scenic.
We stayed here last year a short bus ride into town.

Got online today, going to head to Miranda de Ebro for night, then head towards Burgos, from there towards Galicia, as I've not been to that area before.

I can recommend a visit to the cathedral in Burgos and to the Museum of Human Evolution. Both pretty impressive (I was on the Camino Santiago at the time and have no idea where you could park a motorhome).

Stayed several times including last year it's ACSI discount. On site cafe popular with locals. Pleasant walk or cycle ride beside river into Burgos which has great cathedral, popular square with good icecream and bar with free pizza tapas and restaurant up an alley off the square.

Well, despite putting in the coordinates into my GPS I could 'find' this one, in hind site I should have searched for the nearby shopping centre.

And having walked to the one in post 17 above today, just to see what it was like. The one I'm still at currently is much nicer, plus a dump & water fill point.

Not really your fault if they changed the ship and routing.

I once thought I had booked DVR_Dunkirk but as we approached I realised it was Calais.

My excuse was that the two destinations are interleaved on the same DFDS page so my finger must have slipped a line.

Not allowed to forget it.
