Concerns about mains charging

I have just brought a VW T5 camper, and getting my head around the switches on the control panel CF8. I plug in, turn the mains switch to on (which lights up fine) I switch the touring/on site switch to “on site”, however after a short while the panel becomes extremely hot to touch. I’m worried if i leave it unattended it will set fire. I have read through the instruction on line for the CF8, however one concerning part I read was that a fridge should in no way be connected to this unit, but the fridge will only turn on once i turn the 12v switch on in either mains or off mains. Any thoughts anyone?

You need to speak to the converter. Hope it works out well.
