I would be very interested to hear of anyone’s experience of “Comporta” and the surrounding area, It appears to be quite unspoilt area.

Any experience of places to stay would be appreciated as not a great deal shows up on the Internet.

Thanks.

Hope to be going that way soon.
I did visit Sesimbre on the way down ( lots of portuguese visit it) it’s very nice and started to head towards comporta but changed my mind because I didn’t have enough info .Cant wait to visit that whole area
This link is quite comprehensive

It’s worth looking at information on alentejo coast and the vicentine coast which I’m told is very nice ( though alentejo is a huge area and can be very hot and dry in summer temperature was once recorded as 47 apparently)
You can get a catamaran from Setúbal to Comporta

Went there a couple of years ago with the intention of staying at the Camper area,so that we could visit the Roman ruins at the top of the peninsula.Didn't like the look of it,so left and went to Lagoa do Santo Andre.Didn't seem much to the town.

Thanks JT , I had seen that link and did find it informative,I’m interested in Kite Boarding opportunities on both the Coast and the Lagoon nearby and intend to go look for myself with the intention of a longer stay late Spring.

I’ll list any places to stay I see .

I also stayed at guincho beach near cascais a few months ago, I think that’s a kitesurfing spot too, parked free near there and there are showers in the summer aT some of the surfing schools.

One thing to be aware of is the Lagoa hasn't been opened to the sea for a year or so and is now toxic, signs are up to not swim in it.

Thanks, I wonder if any Winter storms would correct this! Fingers crossed.

They usually dig a channel every spring but seems it hasn't been done maybe for 2 years.
