Currently have a VW T5, this has been fun, very cheap & 2 adults and a child fit albeit it is basic, only really suitable for summer use & not exactly comfortable when it’s cold and wet, wild camping is interesting without a toilet or shower too which we do often. We would like at some point in the near future to be able to camp in winter in the mountains for skiing as that is a hobby of ours. We love our compact vehicle so we are only considering compact 4 berths under 3m high & less than 6m long. First issue is one of us is very tall 196cm, so we want two decent size double beds & we need a toilet & shower to deal with lack of available campsites in winter. Realistically we think that only leaves us with a few options as we are effectively looking for something almost like a double bed bunk arrangement: Pegaso 590 a Chausson 530/520 or X550, any others? We don’t mind the bed set up hassle as I guess we value compact like we currently have. We want to be able to take 4 normal sized people in this vehicle we know that even the bed sizes in the chausson are a little tight but most the time the tall one can have a double bed to himself. Is one of these motorhomes more suitable for winter use in cold mountains? We also want to use it in the other seasons but I guess it’s not worth all the cost if it won’t work for winter! Any other vehicles or suggestions that would meet this requirement..
Compact 4 berth winterised options? And tall people!
