Hi everyone, we are wondering if anyone can recommend an insurer who does combined car and motorhome cover?
Cheers
Geordie

I'd start with the motorhome specialists to lead you to general car insurance

My Father had a Golden Key policy many years ago. It covered two cars, house, contents and a caravan.
Inevitably he made a couple of claims as it was all bundled. The insurance company wrote to him saying if he made any further claims they would cancel the policy. He wrote back and said don't worry I am cancelling the policy NOW.

We have both family cars and the MoHo on one policy with LV. Only downside claim on one vehicle and been warned it impacts on all other vehicles as one policy.

Wouldn't that be the case anyway as when you take out insurance you're usually asked if you've made a claim on any vehicle in the last 5 years, not just the one you're insuring?

yes, but there is also potentially the impact on No Claims Bonus, as only one plan to take the hit.

You have to report any accidents or convictions at time of renewing a policy. So will affect all ncb on all vehicles

NFU insures my motorhome and car. On my policy renewal documents the NCD is shown separately for each vehicle, as is the insurance premium. I cant say for sure that in the event of an accident they would be treated separately but why would they show them individually if not. It is described as a multi vehicle discount rather than a joint policy.

Very happy with this years renewal. They seem to have changed the valuation bands they apply and my motorhome now seems to be in a band that has a lower premium than previously. They haven’t dropped the value covered, indeed they seem to have increased it. The price reduction was very significant.
