Are you sering two orange lights for the AEB? Mine can shut down in heavy rain if the camera does not see clearly, I've not really driven in fog or mist. . You will also get shutdown if your windscreen has condensation on it after sleeping in the van and also in direct low sunshine. It all comes back on line once the "vision" problems have cleared. An external screen cover stops the overnight condensation problem.

Yes, but comes back quite quickly when screen clears.

Encourages you to slow down!

Collision control consists of using the steering wheel, brakes and travelling at the correct speed for the road and conditions. I’m in control of my vehicle not some unwanted devices.

Mine seems to go off occasionally, yellow light on dash. If it does you can turn it back on through menu, but only when stationary. On a couple of occasions I have seen a message that cameras not seeing clearly, please clean windscreen! Not convinced some of these gizmos are necessary, but if it stops me hitting something because I've been distracted that will be a good thing.

More likely to be distracted looking at messages and cleaning the screen 😳

Blimey, we are grumpy today! :worried:

Situation normal on forums. You go looking for a simple answer like How do I turn xyz off, the forum misery guts will all be on quick and ask What have you got one of those for or I'm so superior I never turn mine off.

They can't help emselves; lucky we only have one or 2 on here

Another unnecessary gadget.
If you need it to avoid collisions you shouldn't be driving.
People have been driving without it for the last 130 years.
And road deaths per million miles travelled are way lower now than in the past. Why would any sensible person not want road deaths to be as low as practically possible. A lot of the safety features are now required to meet the NCAP ratings.

I assume you're also double de-clutching and mixing your own 2-stroke? And you've disabled the ABS? And you've put tape over your reversing camera because mirrors are good enough?

These systems can out perform drivers in tests that know they are being tested. Plenty of accidents happen to skilled drivers. These systems improve safety.

The annoying thing is that they are less effective when it's raining... which is when they'd potentially be the most useful.

Getting better overall all the time though. In general everyone thinks they are really good drivers but are they really? We do as a country have pretty good accident stats but why wouldn't you want them to be even lower

Whenever my AEB has binged off, it has been quicker than me at seeing whatever was in my path. But I have been on the brakes in plenty of time.
The system that I like the most is the speed sign recognition! The number of times that I have been driving at 30 in a built up area, as that is what I have done for the 50+ years that I have been driving, and the system flags up a 20 sign that I didn't see ..... This system should be mandatory for any vehicles used in Wales....

Mirrors! What do you need more than one? What's Infront is more important, and you only need one by law!😉

Back to the question and the answer is yes in heavy rain, clouds and mist. Also if you have fogged the windscreen overnight with condensation. It is a bit disconcerting at first but just ignore it. I was told by Fiat that unless red don't needlessly worry.

Mine in the car turns off in heavy rain, always turns back on again when it’s cleared.
