Having stayed on a few sites now without a drive over grey waste disposal (or a grill I could park close enough to to run a pipe to it), I probably need to get some sort of container to empty my grey waste into so I can pour it away safely.

Rather than get one of those rigid wastehog-style thinggummies (garage is getting full), I would rather get something collapsable.

First thought was, of course, a bucket. But with a 100L (I think) grey tank, a 5L bucket might take a while to take everything away.

Anyone got any suggestions for something bigger? There's a ton of stuff on ebay & Amazon, but I couldn't see anything that would be short enough to fit under the MH.

I can obviously search - but actual recommendations would be most welcome. Someone did mention using the toilet cassette (after emptying), which is a good idea.

My second thought was a Lilo :)

Been using them (link above) for the last 3 years, they are supposed to be for fresh water but we've always used them for grey and so far they have been great.

We have a 150litre grey tank so i tend to empty it daily if we are staying somewhere for a while as that way its only 1 trip with 2 of them.

I have two of these, as recommended by Jim

also highly recommend

Yep, way to go.2 Black + 2 blue. Waste and fresh water. Don't fill to the brim though. A good funnel for the fresh water is needed. You can easily judge how much to put back in by how much your taking out. Let them dry out, roll them back up, job done. I have room in front of the cassette to store mine, so out of the way, but to hand when needed.
Mike.

We have a foldable bucket if necessary. We are often on CLs with no drive over waste, but then most want the water in the bushes, so have a pipe for that. I think only once did we have problems when it had to go in a drain and we couldn’t get near enough to use the pipe. Just took it home or to next site. We are rarely anywhere very long.

I would love to find something lightweight and small enough to fit under my grey water outlet, but it is very low - about 6"/150mm from the ground. If I am travelling then I have to tote a Wastemaster with me. That just about slides under my camping car and the drain point. The washing up bowl fits, just.

My outlet is low so I used a washing up bowl for a bit. That didn't hold much so I invested in a waste master. Standing upright in the garage doesn't take much room.

Yes.
A collapsible bucket that you empty once or twice per day, or more frequently if using a shower.
We travel with a half full ( 50ltr) fresh tank, and replenish with a watering can. and empty daily with a bucket to keep levels up and/or down.

My waste tap is also low, so I made a push on pump thingy which plugs into my supafill socket , this enables me to pump into a container that wouldn't normally fit under

My van is at Vanbitz having solar installed, so I can't measure to see if 28cm is low enough to fit or not, but at 8 quid, I think I'll take a chance :)

Cheers!
If it's not nothing stopping you use a single section of collapz pipe to get the water and into the bucket. Collapz pipe a single section is half a metre but takes like 15cm when folded up.

That's interesting - I'm far too cack handed to make something like that, wonder if I can find one in the wild?

Even if the water travels slightly uphill through a pipe from the waste outlet, most will be pushed out due to the weight of the water, but that would be handy for the last few bits.

Yeah, was thinking the same. I've got a bag full of those already.

Site should give discount to mohos if they don't have a drive over grey facility

I have no issues with (caravan sites) as their waste is often more often than not near enough the road that a few sections of pipe makes it.

Drive over grates are a luxury, we just don't limit to sites with them as you elimniate a lot of nice places to stay if you do.

It's also a siphon action remember once it gets going assuming you create a loop in the pipe . The issue is the last dregs of tank won't empty unless you can swap buckets as quick as it's filling one (ie, empty one whilst next filling).

Some advertising is misleading, for sure. But it's mostly because I don't want to limit the places I can stay at. Some are upfront about not having them but are in preferred locations for me.

The word "syphoning" conjours up images of doing that thing where you suck the pipe to get it flowing ...

I don't want to store stinky greasy pipes anywhere near my garage. Many sites don't seem to even realise it's a thing and expect you to trudge across the site carrying buckets if stinky grey to a disposal point.

When we first had our van the outlet was nearly in the middle of the van but too low for a bucket and no way could i get on the ground to attach a pipe. We found that a container used to collect oil from engines worked - it had a slope which meant that waste water went into the drain hole and then it had a stopper for when shifting the container. Didnt take up much room. But then we had a pipe permanently attached between the outlet and the skirt of the van. Still works with the same metal key, but now easier to empty, and easier to line up with drive over drains.
