Just started!
It seems the best way to clean the skylight is to remove the clear panels which I think requires me to remove the hinge pins?

Couple of questions:
1. Is this an easy process?
2. Will I need to replace the pins - the skylight maybe 23 years old!
3. Where to purchase the pins, just in case?
4. Any other info :)

Thanks

I don't mind getting on the roof but concerned I'm rather over weight 17st! :)

Did mine yesterday weather is perfect in shorts, pop up skylights to max, hop on roof takes 10 mins each, then do front one, try not slide off front over reaching, as these get really grimey around edges !
You should be Ok if you kneel down, chuck a cushion up if you got nobbly knee's though 🤣

Isn't it more sensible to get up a free-standing step ladder beside the van (with someone holding it steady for you!) and tackle them with something like this:

I've got a tall stable aluminium step ladder to get on the roof, there's no way you can reach skylights on any ladder, lot safer get up there. Yes if you not to sprightly defo get the wife to stand or hold on to the ladder on and off, as can get very wobbly 🤷‍♂️ You can even clean inside the lense covers easier !

I clean the edges where they often go a little black/green from inside the van. Just open the skylight and stand on something to reach.
Use a long brush for the whole roof.

Look's like you got your work cut out there guy's, shame about the weather today, after all our hard work 🙈
We off on a 16 niter, 1st stop Baltic Wharf in a couple hours, here's hoping it's a bit better there. Will see if the new mud flaps do there job at least !

Or in our case, hold the ladder & send wife up. But definitely hold the ladder!!
