Whats the best cleaning solution to use prior to resealing using silkaflex.
Also is Silkaflex the best stuff to use?
Cheers
Ian

I would recommend roughing up the surface with course emery say 120grit before using solvent and then apply sealant
It gives a rough surface to key into

A lot of Sikaflex products are combined adhesive and sealer, so would not be ideal for re-sealing applications. What are you attempting to re-seal?

Panel wipe. Acetone.
Be advised, clean the area before applying any masking tape, any of the cleaning agents will almost weld the tape to surface.

I have 2 jobs for it.
1. Using it to stick some brackets so I can attach a couple of rear mudguards, as well as screwing them on
2. Sealing underside of gas locker floor where it meets the side of the van.
I was hoping 1 product would suffice.
I know that Elddis use a Heinkel product but cant remember if it was a combined product like the silkaflex.

What would you recommend?

I would say Sikaflex 522 appears to be suitable for those jobs.

Sikaflex Activator is Isopropanol (Isopropyl Alcohol) otherwise known as rubbing alcohol.
This should be suitable Isopropyl Alcohol 99.9%
