Hey folks,
Cleaning off the winter grime today and noticed we have tiny spots of mould on all the roof skylights. Lots of spots and a real eyesore when looking up!

Tried using the same slightly abrasive pad & shampoo I was using to clean the mould off the roof - and also a special window cleaner and microfibre cloth. They were reduced, but are still visible.

Anyone have a good tip? It’s acrylic windows, so obviously can’t use anything too aggressive - but it’s stubborn!

Thnx,
Heeb

Done ours last weekend, got up on the roof and the mould just washed off with water and shampoo.

If soap and water won't shift it, odds on the acrylic surface has been stained. A very mild abrasive may help, try toothpaste, but try in a discreet area first and don't overdo it.

Once cleaned to your satisfaction a coat of wax may prevent it in future.

I would be going at the skylight with diluted milton (1 to 10 or 20) in a spray format with a light covering and coming back in about an hour and wiping it off. (I would hope)

Wowzers!

Read some concerns in the past about this stuff on roofs - don’t know if it was the GRP generally or around seals…

Did you just spray it everywhere and presume everything (seals, skylights) all looks fine?
