Jim - a couple of questions on behalf of those who have some 'issues' with the new Classifieds:
  • Is it possible to do 'mark as read' (MAR) without having to click on 2 parts - ie just the initial MAR and not have to do the confirmation too?

  • Is it possible to opt out of seeing any new 'flags' altogether - ie can you 'unwatch' the classifieds so you don't see the 'flags' at all?
 
On my Android tablet, when I try to mark (say) Accessories ads as read I get a server error all the time.

Subscribers  do not see these advertisements

I'm working on the 1st question.

Anyone who has no interest in Classified I can manually opt them out, but its not user selectable yet. (y)
 
I wouldn't want to opt out it is just the red flag that is annoying.

I can't see any red flag or notifications for classified on my phone unless I click on the 3 wee bars top left hand side of the screen.
 
well they work well. Bought meself a garage bike rack from Parrot Face this afternoon, proper bargain, no hassle transaction and boom now fitted in my garage housing two bikes on.

just the way it should be.

Jim sorted me out. I don’t see any red boxes or the scrolling classifieds. I guess if you ask him he’ll sort you out as well. I’m back to how it was before 👍.

Does that mean you can't access classifieds at all? You're missing out on all the crap useful stuff that people are selling. :giggle:
 
Red flag doesn't bother us in the least, easy to see when new additions come up for sale, when reading posts you don't look at the flag so no problem, great Idea Jim, love it.

I don’t know. Haven’t tried but it’s much nicer not having the constant scrolling of adverts .
 
Still learning from it. Someone asked me a question about my bike for sale yesterday afternoon on the add but I never got it because I had not ticked the watch box to get a heads up. They also sent me a pm so I got the message. Hopefully it will sell soon then I can learn how to mark it sold. (y)

I don't see any 'scrolling adverts' at all even though I see classifieds and the little red flag ... where does the 'scrolling' take place?

They were coming on my iPad when I selected forums from the top blue bar. I had classified adverts scrolling across the screen above the list of different forums. Don’t know if there was a strange happening on my iPad but Jim sorted it for me very quickly. Personally I much prefer having the cleaner less cluttered look.
 
Apart from the 'read confirmation' I think it's all a great improvement. Hard to understand why a little red square generates controversy 🔴🔴🔴:giggler:.

If the red square had always been there and I removed it, the same people would have a moan, it's just human nature, we all hate change '\
 
Jim there is a filter to see only trade sales can we have one that shows only private sales.

Trade sales is a category of its own. To see only trade sales click on that category. VV Peer to peer sales

OK for those suffering from the "dreaded" red flag \ box and in an effort to return to a spirit of community harmony (at absolutely no cost to any Funster!(y)) a simple non-technical fix to the issue.
It should also relieve the grief our valiant leader:notworthy2: seems to be under and allow him to focus on more important aspects of the site, eg free home beer deliveries for "Life Timers".

first few adds today look a bit like autotrader……..
