Hi,

I have a 2017 2.0 HDI 130 camper, 23000 miles and with ongoing DPF issues. After around 2 hours of A road / motorway driving the DPF warning light comes on followed by the engine management light / limp mode. Also the oil level in the sump has risen. To date, at a Citroen main dealership we have had the injectors tested resulting in 2 new ones, a DPF filter clean and a new NOX sensor all costing in excess of £2k! Just picked it up yesterday after it’s 3rd visit and it will now not rev above 3600. I’ve just about lost all confidence in Citroen being able to solve the issue and wondering if I should approach one of these DPF diagnostic specialists.
Any thoughts anyone??
Thanks

It sounds like the DPF is blocked. The resulting low pressure means that the turbo won't spin up properly (hence the lack of revs).

Did the dealer just do a software regeneration, or did they take it off for a proper clean?

I'd go to a DPF specialist.

Some engines dump the stuff destined for a reburn into your oil if other 'routes' are blocked.
Happened in a company car - Mazda. Fault stopped dpf burn and car went in for an oil and filter change. Then went limp mode next week and garage tried to blame my friend for overfilled oil.

Have you tried the 'Italian tune up '?

I bought a second hand Isuzu pickup that did a regen every 80 miles or so. As I understand, when doing a region it uses more diesel to produce more heat to burn off the soot in the DPF filter.. but diesel passing the piston rings also raises the engine oil level and consequently dilutes the oil.. so not good..

I took it back to the dealer... they had the DPF filter removed and cleaned, still the same issue, back to dealer, they suspected the injectors.. so off it went to a diesel specialist for checking.. came back and same issue .. took it back and this time the dealer said he was stumped and offered me a refund.. which I accepted... never found out what happened but was glad to be shot of it.
