Citi du Europe

We have always enjoyed Gravelines and we have been back since but there’s nothing alleged about bike stealing there. One evening a couple of lads walked slowly up and down the aire and lingered a bit too long around us. We had 2 bikes on a fully covered rack. Twice we were woken during the night by people trying to take the bikes. My wife wouldn’t let me go out so we just made a lot of noise. In the morning we found the cover had been Stanley knifed and so much force had been used that they had cut a chunk out of the rack. Wouldn’t fancy taking on lads with knives. I’ve since had an alarm fitted by Vanbitz.
We were there 4 years ago and 3 youths tried to get our bikes off the bike rack. I went to get out and one of them was trying to hold the door shut.
He wasn’t expecting 18 stone to come through the door at him, he ended up on his arse against the Dutch van next to us. The other two ran off with the Fiamma bike cover.
I think the sight of me in my boxer shorts did the trick.
I have since had a new van with a garage for the bikes and wouldn’t hesitate stopping there now.

Thats the one we use, usually get there late at night, nd usually very quiet
Used it myself a couple of times with no problems and have been there in the wet but kept front wheels close to the tarmac.
