We have a dash cam and a satnav plugged into the two cigarette lighter sockets in the dash. Both of the plug ins are mini transforners and are a loose fit in the cigarette lighter sockets causing both devices to be continually on/off/on/off. The satnav needs 8V and the dash cam needs 5.5V, so cannot connect them direct to 12V supply. Has anyone else suffered this and found a solution?

Had similar with Avtex TV in current motorhome. Found an adapter from single to double which sorts the problem and also an extension lead for those type of sockets. Some have short spring contacts on side which sit ok but some with the longer contacts jump out.

I was lucky having an adapter my son left behind so didn’t have to find one.

Thanks Peter, will try anything for a solution. Last week in Pamplona city while following sat nav it stopped working. It took almost a minute to boot up again. Grrr.

Get the sockets changed to HELLA sockets.
Hella plugs have a positive contact.
Once in they click in place and cannot work loose.
Google Hella or DIN sockets

We used to have this issue but solved it by getting USB leads instead of cigar lighter type plugs. Then we bought one adaptor that fits nicely in the cigar socket.

If its a Fiat X250 the sockets are on the top DIN tolerance they are OK from around 2013/2014.

The sockets may be ok but the plugs could be total crap.
If they don't lock in they'll always vibrate loose.

I have the Hella plugs on my motorbikes for charging, but I need the transformers for the 8V and 5.5V.
