Does anybody have any experience of using this plug in tuning module,I have a 2.8 jtd ducato 2003,just wondering if the unit would really do what the company says?

Steer well clear, they're not a substitute to a professional re-map.

Search the sites, lots and lots of threads on this subject.

Usual problem is finding anyone who has actually had it done, however, there is plenty of advice regarding the general subject of using a chip vs a remap or leaving things as they are, even then, its often hard to separate out actual users from those with strong opinions. PP Bear above sounds like he was pleased with his professional remap so maybe will volunteer some more about his experience.

Strange as it may seem most of the problems I have read about are strain on the clutch and gears not particularly any engine probs.

We had a Dutch manufactured box of tricks fitted to our 2004 Ducato when we bought it but can not remember the manufactures name.
Being very dubious about these tuning boxes I had a browse over their website as to what theirs was all about and their claims which weren't excessive and emailed them for clarification on questions I had. They stated that their unit contained an a chip that had 3 re-maps written to it ( performance, fuel economy and towing) and the unit would read the commands from the ecu to the fuel pump ecu and adjusted the commands to the fuel pump ecu and turbo to fall in line with the chosen mode on the unit. All sounded plausible but did it work, well yes but it's main improvement I felt was change downs from 5th to 4th on long inclines and it being happier to rev at higher rpm. I did remove it for a period to check if it was making any changes by driving the same roads in the same conditions and van load.
Would I fit a tuning box to a van of mine, well no, still dubious if there really up to the job and a re-map every time for me if I feel the vehicle required it.
I have had our present van re-mapped as at 110 bhp I wanted a bit more umph for towing.

Just read the reply from @chaser and I personally think that strain on the clutch and gears are more down to individual driving techniques more than the norm.
The amount of car drivers you see sat at a set of traffic lights that are at a slight uphill incline rocking backwards and forwards on the clutch which buggers the life clutch plate and the thrust bearing.
