I take it forward facing using inertia seat belts?Hi, looking at purchasing a Chausson Welcome 64, does anyone have any advice on fitting child seats, we need them for the grandchildren.

We have both forward facing inertia and rear facing lap belts as well as the driver and passenger belts.Hi Captain
Yes I should have said that
Thanks for the information, lots to think aboutWe have both forward facing inertia and rear facing lap belts as well as the driver and passenger belts.
My wife and I travel with myself driving , and my 8 year old as passenger in a very robust , inertia belt-held child seat and it is very heavy and big. Will come back to that in a minute.
My 3 year old travels in the rear , nearest the window. forward facing, in an even bigger and robust childseat which also has a forward facing drop down leg which extends at 90 degrees to lock tight with the floor on a ratchet type tightening system and an audible alarm to ensure it remains secure.
My wife then uses the other inertia belt which is next to the child seat, also forward facing and on the off side of the window , which means that for us, on her left side is the gangway and NO supporting wall and not where you would want another child seat, ie both kids being on child seats side by side!
I mentioned earlier that both seats are robust, heavy and big.
And THAT is a big problem when they are removed to use the space they occupied, and you have to store them, unless you have a garage at the rear.
Shifting them around to utilise space with 2 grandkids in a fairly small space often means some internal space is permanently taken up and unusable as it’s storing the seats. Same with a pushchair.
Unless you have , as I say, a garage or a really long motorhome.
If your grandchildren are over 9 or 10 and quite tall, you may be able to use just booster seats , but I personally would still split them, one up front and one in the rear with an adult to each.
Only my observations and experience, but to me , safety is not a compromise.
What has been seriously considered is the practicality of travelling with young children and the equipment needed to let them travel safely, balanced against limited space.
We set out with all good intentions of taking grand kids away and bought a van with more than enough legal seatbelts, but the practicalities, even in a 6 berth van with Bed making up each night etc, are tending to lead us towards just myself and my wife travelling untill the grandkids are probably into double figures, unless they can join you, and be dropped off and collected separately to you.
Only my opinion though, so please don’t shoot me.
