Rally Chat Chester Racecourse, Easter

Phone signal is not good but dongle and Wi-Fi is ok
No idea what we are doing tonight but we are on the wine. Forgot my onion for the fajitas they were fine without
Would be good to meet up

Well that’s Chester over and done with, it’s not been as good as previous years that’s for sure, general camping was disorganised chaos, prob won’t be going again🤷‍♂️
Was nice to see Janine again and scotzsue and John for the first time👍

Lovely to meet you too.

I won’t be going again either - now they have changed the pricing structure, it would cost me twice as much!

Their pitching policy is ‘this is your 6m pitch, fill it however you like’ which meant that you could have 4 tents/awnings/motorhomes/caravans meeting at the corners with absolutely no space between them! The only fire-break was the roadway. Crazy imo.

This seems to have changed as they got more units arriving than they had pitches marked out.

Long live the Funster Fields!

WESTY66 was lovely to meet you both not caught up with you and Adam yet Janine quite a few have gone this afternoon, John's knee is playing up so not done much today.
Hope to see you tomorrow if you are still here.
Only time I like that type of pricing is when I take the grandkids, now adults, away. Very much doubt we will be back either, not the same without our own area.
Been lucky with the weather today.

Sorry not to find you!

I took advantage of the nice weather and quiet roads and came home this afternoon.

Don't blame you will catch up at Newark if you are there.

I’m still here and have had a hoot apart from the inconsiderate dog owners not showing responsibility for their pooches but hey the pooches were entertaining in a weird way trying to devour each other or pulling a chair around the bar area whilst trying to be manly barking at the opposition. Hilarious 😜

I've always enjoyed Chester meet since 2015 when I first found MotorhomeFun (even when we were knee-deep in mud!) but there's no way I'm paying double the price as Janine says, now it's "per pitch".
There's a lot of other solos who are probably thinking the same about next year. (Several of them only went this year because their tickets were carried over from the cancelled meet last year.) Some years there have been 10 or 12 of us solos parked up together.
I don't know what the organisers are thinking about when they are alienating so many previous attendees!
Also the parking up sounds awful and should make everyone appreciate our own volunteer marshals even more!

Yes this⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️

It might seem nothing just having a marshal jumping on their bikes and parking you up, but believe me when you have marshals that don’t have a clue, you will apppreciate the funster marshals that DO know what they’re doing and we should be very grateful that they are willing to do it, so don’t give em any grief (they can do without it) be respectful, and most importantly if your schedule changes, try and let them know👍👍👍
