Hi funsters, we are kind of newbies when it comes to ferry crossings, so looking for some advice, as we want the process to be as smooth as possible for our pets :). We travel with our two cats, and on a recent 45 mins ferry crossing with a rather small ship, one of them seem to have had some motion sickness, so we decided that for the tomorrow crossing (Kristiansand to Hirtshals, 3h 45 mins) to book a cabin, and have them with us. Now the question(s), how do you "check-in"? Where do you get the room key/card, while queuing up before boarding? Or after boarding you need to go to some kind of "reception"? Any other advice regarding pets on a ferry? Thanks in advance.

It varies by ferry company, but in our experience, you check in, board, take the cats up to the passenger area and usually find the pursers office, or cabin allocation area. Pick up your keys and off you go.
