Chassonwelcome737?
Hi,
Anyone on here bought a Chausson welcome 737. We’ve just agreed a part exchange on our motorhome with a 2017 model and wanted to see if anyone has had any major issues. We know we’ll come across things that may need replacing with any used motorhome but has anyone had any damp issues etc?

Yes had two previous chaussons a 610 a 2015 and a 630 a 2017 from new ,loved both models but couldn’t live with the damp issues around the rear garage areas and doors dealer technician said when i asked if I was unfortunate he said no they are all the same !
Good luck (y):(

For balance, I've had my 530 for 4 years and no damp issues have been found during annual checks.

All of the third party components fitted are the same and similar to other motorhome makes so these can be good or bad depending on your luck, but tempting fate I've had no major failures to-date🤞

One thing you need to check is ensure the Chausson you are considering has got documented proof that the mandatory Chausson approved dealer checks have been carried out annually. Without these Chausson will reject any warranty claim.

Thank you. Didn’t see any damp when we viewed and it hadn’t been prepped before viewing.

Thank you. Didn’t see any signs of damp when viewed it. Do you know how long the warranty is for from new?

No you don’t see the Damp ! The dealer lets you know on annual DAMP test . If you request they will then try to fix the DAMP issues! And then tell you if it’s been successful the next annual test until the warranty runs it’s course.
Good Luck don’t like to put a dampener on it !(y):cautious:

I have to say it is pretty poor by most MH manufacturers whereby they need to check annually that there are no leaks within your MH.

They are basically saying it’s going to happen, but we will catch it when it does.

For the record the rear window on my Chausson 711 2018 leaked, I fixed it myself. (Previous owner never had annual check done)

Other issues I have had, what appears to be a small delaminating on one wall board, and on my current trip in Spain at the moment the panoramic window distorted with the heat.

Apparently the recommendation is not to have blind closed in hot weather, what a load of bunk.

For the record with the window I removed the two sealing plugs on the double glazed unit, put some pressure on the inner pane over a couple of hours and it went back into shape, once back in shape it retained its shape OK.

How hard can it be for the MH builders to get things right?
I have worked in and around the automotive industry all my life (now retired) water leaks on vehicles are very much in the past, when are MH builders going to waken up to how to build their vans to the same standard as vehicle manufacturer.

I would ask the question, many MH are built on a base chassis of Ducato/Transit, how many owners have had a water ingress problem that directly related to the base vehicle, for instance the windscreen, I am going to guess very very few.

7 years, providing the annual checks have been completed and documented by an approved Chausson dealer.

Sorry you might not want to hear this but if you haven’t already committed then you should reconsider. Save for a bit longer a buy a new German Motorhome.
