Chausson 727 welcome
Good morning homies I have another question for you knowledgable lot out there.
So last night spent the first night in our 2016 chausson, when it came to locking the van up with us in it for the night it didn’t seem I could lock the front two Doors in anyway from the inside. If I used the remote obviously the alarm would go off and the handles don’t push in to lock it that way either. So how do you secure these doors??

What alarm is fitted to your van?
With our alarm, if we are in our van, I lock with the remote and then press the lock button again after a couple of seconds and this will disarm our van's internal sensors and leave the cab and hab door sensors armed.

I’m not sure. Is yours a chausson? I think I tried that and it went off. I’ll check what it is at lunchtime.

On our chausson, there is a button with a lock on located under the radio. This locks the front doors.

If you want additional locks, look at Heosafe. They are deadlocks for the cab doors. If someone smashes a window, or pings the lock from outside with a screwdriver, they are still unable to open the doors. Very handy if you are away from the MH too. From memory, ours were about £160, and it took me a couple of hours to fit them.
Mine was a Ducato, but i believe they are available for other models

Yeah we have that lock button on the Dash but it doesn’t do anything. It works when the ignition goes on but that’s about it

The lock button below the radio should lock the doors when the ignition is switched off, unless the installer has disabled this function, which would be most unusual.

Does the central locking activate the locks on the hab and both cab doors? If it does then try this to reset.

Exit the vehicle by the drivers door. and lock the doors using the key on the remote fob, not the fob button. Wait until the indicator led on the lower dash lock button shows the vehicle alarm is set. Then unlock the drivers door with the key, not the fob button. Enter the vehicle and close the door, then try the lower dash lock button to see if it now locks and unlocks the hab and cab doors.

Being a poor retired person and an angler, I devised an alarm for the front doors, of our old moho of years ago, whilst asleep. I ran a length of fishing line between the door handles that passed through a bite alarm unit. Cheap n cheerful, maybe but it worked. As for deadlocks, the ones mentioned above seem a tad expensive, similar everyday roller bolts would do same job, jmo.
