I have a 610 and found water on the seat after a shower of rain. On closer to inspection I can see a gap in the top corner between to the panoramic window and the seal. Chausson are saying that this is not water ingress under the terms of the warranty šŸ¤·šŸ¤¦when is water ingress not water ingress? I have examined the window and it is warped i.e at the edges the two panes of perspex are parallel but in the middle there is a bulge where there are several cm between the two panes. Clearly the integrity of the window is compromised and I believe the bulge is causing the distortion which means that it doesn't fit properly (the dealer says they have never heard of this ever happening!?). Furthermore I can now see condensation between the panes which, to me, is proof that the sealed unit is no longer sealed.
Has anyone else had this issue and did you get it replaced under warranty?
Thanks

I made a post earlier this week about more or less same issue, my panoramic window warped under heat.

Dealer says never heard of it happening, what absolute rubbish, it must be common.

Do what I did, remove the two sealing bungs when the pane is exposed to heat - direct sunlight, the put pressure under the inner skin for a couple of hours and it will hopefully fit Ok, replace bungs whilst pane is warm and contraction will ā€œpullā€ it back into place.

if dealer says never heard of it, reference my issue, and searching on web others have had same issue. Bull by both Chausson and dealer.

We had the same problem with ours top left hand corner. Common problem with Chausson with
Panoramic window of that type. I had to fit another rubber trim myself before it got traded in. This and the cupboard handles were a right pain so I decided to get rid and get a German Dethleffs.

Very interesting, thank you. I hadn't realised that the two plastic things were bungs. How did you put the inner pane under pressure?

I had a an extendable window cleaning pole in the van, the twist and lock pole type, I removed the bungs, locked the window in place and put upright pressure on the inner pane ( the pole had a rubber window cleaner on end so it did not damage inner pane)

when left a couple of hours pane went back into shape, I then replaced the bungs whilst it was hot. I am now keeping my eye on it.

I do not believe for one minute either Chausson or dealer have never heard of this problem.

I believe the window is manufactured by Dometic, but I could be wrong, anybody know for certain?

This has got to be a defect.

Is it the dealer or Chausson saying it not covered under warranty? Dealers don't want to do this particular retrofit repair as it's time consuming.
Ask the dealer for a copy of the Chausson reply to their warranty claim and stick to your guns as there have been a number of funsters who have had problems with the panoramic window fixed under warranty.

Many thanks, I will do that!!

Itā€™s totally irrelevant whether they have heard of it before, Iā€™m not sure why they would even say that.

ā€œ Oh weā€™ve not heard of that before so you canā€™t claimā€
How crazy.

They are saying that the water ingress covered by the warranty is everything other than windows, which is ridiculous! My dealer is generally very receptive and helpful so, hopefully, they will help to pursue this through Chausson.

Hi, I just heard off my dealer my warranty claim was accepted today by Chausson for the sunroof lifting on edges, new sunroof and blind to be fitted as soon as in stock

Excellent news. Apparently, a bad batch of panoramic sunroofs was fitted including mine in 2018. Chausson are replacing the entire window, blinds etc as a cassette unit all under warranty. The downside is the new unit is much heavier. The dealer showed me the invoice from Chausson and the parts alone at trade price, was just under Ā£2500 so goodness knows how much this would be retail plus labour. They want the vehicle for 2 weeks to carry out the exchange and it is going to be quite a long delay to get it so, they have sealed the existing window until it is replaced (I cannot open it now but, in practice, we hardly open it anyway). Great service from Chausson and the warranty team at the dealership

That's a good result. As a matter of interest, what panoramic roof light is currently fitted, is it the one with the five lever catches? Are they replacing it with one that has a crank handle?

Out of curiosity, you mention 5 catches, mine only has 4, did they do a different window with 5 catches, then one with a handle?

mine has two catches, one either side, then two along top.

It seems to me there is not enough tension on the top two catches on my window.

however, having experienced heavy rain during night over last few days at least it does not appear to leak.

I can see daylight thru both top corners however.

Mine is a 2019 530 and the panoramic window has 3 catches on rear and one one each side. I have also seen the same year Chausson models with the crank up handle version.

You can increase the tension by cutting a bit of half inch hose (about 10mm long) and pushing this over the locking arm ends. This effectively increases the width of the locking arm and pulls the panoramic roof light tighter onto the rubber seal.

I found something on my MH the other day with a manufacturer date of Oct 2017, my MH is registered May 2018, so realistic to assume built late 2017or very early 2018.

My panoramic window only has the four latches, there has obviously been a bit of tinkering with the design.

It has 4 catches (small handles). All they said about the replacement was that it is a cassette that it much better, albeit much heavier, but didn't say it had a crank handle but I have read other responses where the replacement was as you describe. I will post details once I have had it installed

Mine only has four catches as well, they needed the number that is etched on the actual sunroof that was all

Hi, I have the same problem on my Chausson, could you tell me what rubber trim you used and where you got it from. Many thanks.
