Hello all

I'm looking at getting a 32" 12v TV.

Cello is £220
Avtex is £450

What's the catch? Am I missing something?

Binned my old Avtex and brought a new, bigger and, in my opinion, better Cello.

Just think of what you can buy with £230 squiddlies £££££££

Cello it is!
It's UK made like you say so that feels a bit better as well. With that fact you'd expect it to me more expensive!

I bought a Cello 14inch travel TV £90 delivered. The picture is good but at more acute angles it's poor and the sound is average a bit tiny if isn't directly behind something solid. But it's cheap compact and even has a built in rechargeable battery and Freesat. We don't watch a great amount of TV whilst vanning.

Second hand Avtex....... Just to muddy the water.....
Although the occasional Medion TV from Lidl/Aldi (forget which one) was an excellent TV for less than £230.

My Cello traveller has served us well for past 13 years and I have a sound bar to improve it.

The strange thing that I just can’t understand, or get answers to from their customer support, is a recent discovery for us due to camping more in the UK this past year.

If we have to use an external aerial lead to the campsite bollard as soon as we unplug the coax cable from the TV it switches off and when we plug in the lead to the bollard we don’t get any signal or power to the screen. The only way we can view the TV is by connecting the 12v supply to the 240v supply by the in line power block, or whatever it is called.

So good on 12v if onboard aerial gets signal but not if a bollard booster is needed. In the Thames valley the signals are poor so we’ve had to take the mains plug with us if visiting for any length of time and wanting the TV on.
