Hi. We’re currently in Lagos but heading to Lisbon next week. Any recommendations for sites/Aires to visit Lisbon please. Also anywhere to stay in Cascais and Sintra, we’ve been told they’re worth a visit.
Thanks

Sintra is lovely but just be careful of the Mh parking by the station. we had a break in in broad daylight.

It’s a long climb up at Sintra, when you que for the tickets add the bus in and if you visit two or more attractions the price was discounted when we went. There was an official site when we were there in 2018, but the one opp the bus station feels a bit vulnerable

I stayed in Lisboa campsite. Was OK. Quiet when I was there and friendly staff. No issues with 8m van
Bus into centre
Lisbon is fun, great tarta natas, historical trams and funky LX factory area.
Rather too much graffiti for my liking but I enjoyed my stay and would definitely return.

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated and we’ll be aware of being a bit vulnerable with the parking.
Anyone heading towards Lagos, weather is good at the mo but due to break again for the weekend

For Sintra we stayed at the football club & walked everywhere from there. Nice Curry restaurant just down the road.

For Lisbon we parked at Seixal on the other side of the river by the HYdrofoil terminal csts a few Euro to get across, parking was a bit expensive about €2 for 24 hours.

We stayed at the old munitions site (P4N) just down from the oceanarium. Mixed reviews … but great for getting into Lisbon and we felt very safe and didn’t experience any of the noise that some people complained about. The facilities are quirky at best but if you’re self contained - it shouldn’t matter so much?
We also noted a few vans parked up around the dock area that hadn’t been moved on (the old Portugal against wild camping misinformation) whilst we were there, but no facilities at all obviously.
Also, I’m fairly sure both Cascais and Sintra are doable by train from Lisbon if you didn’t want to park there.
Hope that helps.

Great, thank you. 👍

We visited Sintra last month. We stayed at the free Aire in Mafra, right next to the National Palace which is well worth a visit.
There was a bus stop just a few yards away but we decided to get an Uber. It wasn’t overly expensive (€20) given that we hadn’t spent anything on the Aire, it was a door to door ride and it was raining. The Peña palace was spectacular but very busy.

For info, ended up staying at the aire Area de Corroios/Lisbon. Good aire with services (nice cafe opposite for coffees/breakfast). Be aware if visiting that trains were on strike when we were there yesterday. Not a problem but access to city was via tram to Cacilhas then ferry to Cais Do Sodre (approx 3.50€). Easy peasey.
