Carver Cascade rapide 2.

Good evening hoping someone can help. I have a 1999 Vw T4 Compass Calypso. It has a Carver Cascade Rapide 2 (Henry) water heater Gas and mains on hook up.
Know the issue I have gas works fine heats up then cuts in once and a while to keep water in tank hot.
The issue is on the electric side again can hear the heater click in get hot shuts off then about 2 mins later turns on agains. Keeps doing this all the time even when not using hot water. Checked resistance of thermostat's and pins on heater all as should be. So not sure why it keeps turning on and off when the water is hot. Surely it cant lose heat that quick. As the gas side does not do this..
Driving me nuts!.

I have a 1998 T4 Compass and have stripped and refurbished my Cascade heater but (and this isn't much help, but at least you'll know your post is being read) I can't see what is causing that unless the thermostat if faulty (i.e over-sensitive?), but I think the unit only has one thermostat so the issue should occur on gas as well as mains. I've got the Installation and User manuals with technical drawings and will have a browse for a clue tomorrow.
Have you just acquired the Compass or have you had it some time and the heater was previously working O.K?
Does the water get properly hot or is it cutting out at below the designed temperature?
