New to Motorhome, experienced caravanner 😊
Hello helpful people!

Can anyone please give me their thought on this…….https://www.morrisonmotors.co.uk/leisure-vehicles/fiat-ducato-linerfortwo/

From my limited knowledge and research I would think that the payload on this Motorhome is only 433kgs? But when I phoned the garage to ask they told me payload is around 1400kg? I don’t see any mention of air suspension.

Any advice or opinion welcomed 😊

Every Carthago order lists what each option weighs and then gives you a total at the end of it, it is never correct. Our C- Tourer was over 100kg in excess of the paper figure without driver, fuel, any water or gas bottle.
LF2 are lovely vans and we looked at one when they first came out and dismissed it due to lack of payload. The Fiat chassis ones are especially tight on weight, the Iveco chassis gives you some more.
There was a case in 2020 ish of a couple buying a Fiat LF2 with all the options ticked (including a generator!) and it being overweight before they drove it...the dealer purchased it back & sold them an Iveco version of the same spec.... it was also overweight!
Lovely vans but put it on a weighbridge before purchase... do not trust the dealer or the paperwork would be my advice.
Good luck.

As said above get the dealer to get it weighed with driver passenger water & fuel Deisal Gas, before you part with your money. (y)

Every one will be different.

Say max engine spec, Auto transmission, Alde heating, drop down front bed, spare wheel and jack. The prescribed volume of fuel and water etc. Then add the wife!!

I looked at a Carthago on an iveco chassis and soon realised with the extras I needed it was not fit for purpose . We now have a Concorde 791RL on an Iveco 70c chassis 7490kg gross. Carthaho simply need to supply the heavier chassis , our extras alone on the Concorde weighed in at 1500kg hence the need for the 70c.

There's a lot of Liner for Two motorhomes out there on a Fiat chassis. Such a shame that a premium van should be provided on such a poor chassis. I bet most are overweight, yet the owners are enjoying them without a care. Purchased because they were cheaper than the Iveco alternative.
If you're interested in this vehicle (and have the money) you need to splash more cash for the Iveco chassis (and the longer one, too). With Iveco you get RWD and diff lock (another extra) but still have to tolerate Fiat 'professional' servicing. It's the longer wheelbase Iveco that will give you 1tonne+ payload. It's a great layout, although I still wonder how you cope with the sheeting of the front beds...

I'm fairy new to all this as I'm on my first motorhome, but it isn't just a option of Fiat/Mercedes or Iveco is it? You can get the Fiat (and Mercedes I guess) on a heavy duty Al-KO chassis.

I have a Carthago C-Tourer on A fiat with AL-KO chassis and my max vehicle weight is 4250Kg. I have ALDE heating and an awning, and when I put mine on a weighbridge I had 600kg free (with 600kg free on rear axel). It had two adults on board and diesel tank three quarters full. The rest of the van was empty, including fresh and waste water tanks. Carthago does have a feature to empty your fresh water tank to 20 litres, specifically for travelling.

I did notice the van in question had self levelling which I believe can be fairly heavy.

Didn't see in the spec that it was 3500kg, if it's already + that figure they'd be duty bound to flag that up 🤷‍♂️
