Carthago discounts

In other words, the first recognition that the covid bubble has clearly burst..
Dealers with to much stock and not enough buyers.
It's those that bought during this time I feel for.

And at over inflated prices .

He said on certain 2023/2024 models so mainly old stock of models they can't shift.
So looks like no discounts on popular 2025 models.

Exactly that...

Hopefully most benefitted from an uplift on any trade in, biggest losers will be a few first time buyers and hopefully most of them didn’t buy new 👍

We bought a car in early 2023 , bound to have paid too much but got £15K more for our trade in than we paid for it 30 months earlier 😳👍

It’s all about price to change , not many vehicles make good investments

We bought new in 2021, and had to wait a year to get the van delivered. When we got it, the same van was 15k€ over what we paid for it, and still it is 15-20k over it.
The dealer we bought from still has stock from 23 and 24, but the prices hasn't go down, instead, they are offering Aircon + lithium + maybe 2k € discount, not more.
What will happen in 2025?

Reality is about to catch up! This time last year there were 90 Carthagos, both used and new for sale, there are now over 250. At the top end 23/24 models are being offered with 30-40k discounts. 2025 models are being offered at increased prices over 2024, which are still not sold.

Interesting times……

Yet overall the UK market for new motorhomes is up 35 % yoy for the first 9 months of the year!!

Interesting times……

The home market of Germany is slow and Carthago dealers have been heavily discounting current stock, supported in some way by Carthago. We've managed to get a double figure percentage discount on a German 2025 van, plus few extras thrown in, which is an indication of their need to incentives sales.
It will interesting to see how this plays out in the UK.
