Carthago 2011 - headlights

Hi all

Just got my carthago E chic I47 and I am looking at upgrading the headlights to auto beam LED bulbs. On looking today my motorhome has some unusual wiring behind the headlights. I suspect it's after market, but I'm not totally sure. Could anybody who has a carthago confirm if this is normal or has the previous owner done a modification? I've attached a couple of pictures. The gold looking resisters don't look OEM to me?

Looks like it's had LEDs that aren't Canbus compatible and those are ballast resistors to simulate the load of a standard bulb. Definitely not standard.

Yeah I got the feeling it wasn't original. Do you think I can just rip them out and put it back to standard?

are the ballast resistors wired in to the headlamps? some of my lorries have them on the indicator circiuts to stop the indicators flashing too fast becaue they have LED rear lamps

Yes I would the new ones you are fitting should be ballasted to work with the Canbus.

I'm going to upgrade to Autobeam LED dipped and high beam bulbs. I had them on my car and they are great. Their after sales are good as well. They just plug straight in so I'm hoping this is still possible with somebody messing with the wiring.
