Your iPhone hasn't had a firmware \ software update that's impacting connection?

Try another cable. I know my Android phone can start dropping the connection if I've wrenched the cable one too many times.

Turn bluetooth on an off, I find that sometimes works. The only problem with connecting iphone with a cable is that when you use google maps it may mysteriously turn the sound off. It is a not uncommon problem and the only way to get her voice back is to turn bluetooth off but then you lose all the other bits you want. Has happened in my Fiat car as well as the van, son’s iphone did it as well.

Carplay is AFAIK only available via cable or wireless (the latter depending on head unit), not B/T. If you have wireless Carplay, make sure you connect to the right WLAN ID - it might be hidden so you might need to connect to it manually if it's not known by your phone from before.

Yes! try turning The Bluetooth off, use Apple cable to connect to head unit.
We have had problems for the last 4 years, 4 years of pulling hair out!, Google maps appears on the screen with no volume, unplug the phone and the voice & maps appears on the phone. We have tried a couple of Apple Phones over the years but same problem.
We also use a Garmin Camper Sat Nav, that also has Bluetooth enabled but it just picks up missed calls and texts from the I phone. Garmins live traffic updates and GPS comes from its own power cable we are told.
We did get the Google Maps with maps on head unit via the Apple phone to work with voice instructions via the cable through the head unit for a brief spell, but it stopped, and we have no idea what we did to get to work.
I suspect the Apple Bluetooth must reset itself somehow, but life's too short so its Garmin for sat nav, and apple phone for the radio player + deezer. Plus I need to save my hair these days.
Please wake me up when a solution is found, I cant take it anymore!:cry::cry:

Assuming you have both BT and Wi-Fi enabled ? (CP needs both, one BT to make the connection and then Wi-Fi for the communication) unless you’re on a cable.
