Thats what we do now but was really good not having the carpets when on holidayMuttly has difficulty understanding laminate flooring in the house even after eighteen months living here. A shiny slippery floor in the motorhome would not be fair on him. Also it’s nice underfoot during our winter trips.
Yes the carpet needs a good hoovering after each trip and we take it out to clean occasionally.
The missus is a wheelchair user so no carpets in the MH and I have a cosy pair of slippers, as a plus it is easy to keep clean, we don't do much cold stuff though, Italy, Spain, Slovenia etcHi all
Whats your views on carpets in mh?
Just had a trip to Spain without carpets easy to sweep.
Got back and put carpets back in. Would feel warmer in colder months but I did like the ease of cleaning without carpets.
I have a theory that Vax put something in the cleaning liquid that automatically makes it go black in the carpet cleaner.Never used the carpets in our last motorhome. The new owners will got factory condition carpets when we trade this one is as well.
Last house we renovated, underfloor heating and tiles. Trust me clean your carpets at home and look at the colour of the water when you empty the carpet cleaning machine, you will be horrified.
We do clean ours every now and again with a Vax which uses hot water and also dries as it goes, you do indeed get some mucky water out sometimes but it beats having a tiled/laminate/wood floor where you get tumbleweed rolling all over it every day, especially with 3 dogs pottering around.Never used the carpets in our last motorhome. Cannot believe my 2 Jacks have any fur left, I hoover the van every 2 days with the Dyson and pick up half a load of hairWe do clean ours every now and again with a Vax which uses hot water and also dries as it goes, you do indeed get some mucky water out sometimes but it beats having a tiled/laminate/wood floor where you get tumbleweed rolling all over it every day, especially with 3 dogs pottering around.
As aboveVan came with only vinyl flooring, every 2 years get a 1.5m x 4m end of roll for £10-£20 cut to shape and chuck last years carpet away. Works for us, always fresh looking
