Carioca 625 damp

[Carioca 625]

We have just found some slight damp in the wooden Base at the offside rear of the van. It could be linked to the rear wheels kicking up spray or a water leak from the outside of the van. It is similar on the nearside too so unlikely to be a shower leak. Has anyone had experience of this in the 625 and could advise what they found before we start stripping it down!

Hi there and welcome, it’s unlikely you will know the full extent of the affected area until you start removing any affected patches.

Is he damp noticeable inside and outside?

There is no sign inside but it is behind the shower panels on the offside so without it all coming out you wouldn't know. The other side has the sink and there is nothing inside there either so I am hoping someone else with the same van has had similar before and can share what they found. It was found as part of the mot underneath the van.

what age is the van, others may be able to help with as much info on the van as possible, there have been members who have had similar damp issues but i cant recal model of van.

there has also been an extensive thread with pictures of such repairs but i am struggling to locate it for you.

hopefully someone else can help you more.
