Hi, having just bought our motorhome we need a smoke/ carbon monoxide alarm. I found a combined one on the Argos site ( kidde) but it says it’s not tested for caravan use. Where should I buy one from? Thankyou!

I have separates, but both from Amazon. They do all types, but mine are FireAngels

Kidde are a good brand, can't think why they would not be suitable for caravans, CO and smoke are surely the same wherever it occurs (y)

we have separate units and I personally prefer my CO monitors to have a display, CO is literally deadly serious, but they go off at overtly safe levels, typically 30ppm, it takes a good bit more than that to do harm to you, so I like to know how bad it is, they very rarely go off, but at home we occasionally get an alert on cold damp nights if we don't open the vents on the log burner

Hi, Thankyou for your replies,> I didn't understand what the difference may be between a house and a motorhome needs for these alarms either, but thought perhaps I was missing something being new to this! I will go search amazon! thanks again guys.

I have separate Kidde ones. I tried the fireangel with the 10year battery but it didn't last a year. I also have a separate gas alarm at floor level. (for gas leaks, I am not starting a gassing thread)

The Kidde combined alarm is bigger in real life than it might appear online.

Of course they’re the same.

It’s just arse covering by the manufacturer because they haven’t tested it for that specific application (y)

If you're worried about saving a life, is this something to skimp on?

I prefer desperate alarms.
One for co and one for smoke.
If one doesn’t work or battery dies at least other should be good.
