Far Baulker Farm Near Farnsfield, a site of utter devastation today, I really feel for those who have lost everything. Fortunately no loss of life.

You would be lucky to have 6 metres at a storage yard

Would a 6m separation have helped ?
Stephen, the six metre rule is only applied for licensed sites, where the units are likely to be occupied. It's reasoning for being applied, isn't so much to prevent rapid fire spread, but to give occupants more time and a better chance of vacating their units safely, especially in the dead of night when folks are expected to be asleep, ie, a greater life risk.

The rules are not applied to storage sites, as there is no occupancy.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Be a few Dealers rubbing their hands with glee. All has to be replaced by someone. What a mess. Heat must have been phenomenal some of the Caravan / Motorhome fronts have just melted. Insurance Companies are not going to be happy paying out for that lot.

It was heartbreaking I think 5 motorhomes completely destroyed and I think 3 or 4 scorched I got a short video of a couple

Do you know how the fire started?

Unfortunately Steve, Aires don't come under the same safety regs as licensed Caravan Sites, so yes, a bit daunting at times. It's a case of "When in Rome" sadly. :(

Cheers,

If the vehicles had been occupied and one caught fire the others would just have moved out of the way and gone a safe distance.

Honfleur Aire comes to mind ....

Do you know how the fire started?
Not at the moment police are investigating, apparently. There was another one a few weeks ago though.
