Currently at Caravan Salon and bumped into a British person who said there is an added on import duty of 6% on top of the VAT, can anyone confirm if this is correct as it’s the first I’ve heard?

Certainly not on new vehicles

Maybe some UK importers add a % onto the Dusseldorf show prices, there will be an extra 1% vat if priced for the German market and then there may be something to get the van to the UK and do the import paperwork

There is no duty on EU purchases just the VAT.
