Canyon eBike Batteries recall.

Morning there is a recall and a notice to "Do not use" Canyon Bike models Spectral and Torque..
All registered owners of these two models only, should have been given notice..
However if you have one of these models, that you may have bought Secondhand...its advised not to use it and contact Canyon.
Canyon is a direct sales company... we've bought a few of their bikes...but not the models at risk...
There is a battery flaw...cracking in the casing to be precise, and if water was to enter these areas, this could cause corrosion of the battery components and in turn become a greater risk from fire...
A general release of this problem has not been published...only registered keepers of these models have been informed..
I got to find out through Social media sources that are specific to eMTBs...pass this message on to anyone who you might know, that have these bike models.

Thanks for info. We bought 2 Canyon bikes this year, fortunately not either if these models. Have checked our batteries anyway and they're Bosch & thankfully not affected.
