Canterbury Council have posted major changes to the Motorhome stopover at the P&R. As of 1st April 2025 motorhomes shall only be permitted to stay for a maximum of 48 hours and a 7 day period before they can return.
I’m sure many of us seen this coming. Every time we have been there the blue horse box and old American RV has been there, assume they are living there. Not a great change, 48 hours seems a little short but given the bans from other councils currently happening we should be glad it has not been closed completely. Another example of our own community spoiling it for all.

Agree. It is useful facility. And it does look as if it is being used to live in so possibly no income from those vans if they never leave.

At the moment we would only stay overnight so rarely over 12 hours.

We had thought we would stay longer and visit Canterbury when we retire … the 48 hours just means you can only visit for one day. Maybe that’s enough.

I’m relieved tbh as the council had sad the P&R cost more to run than it brought in. I had wondered if it might disappear.

The blue horse box was gone when we were there last Saturday and not sure what RV the op is referring to but the old Hymer has been there on & off since covid days. We are regulars at the P&R as we live close by but we only tend to go for one night.
