We picked up the moho on Saturday and are now touring a little around the islands to get used to the van before going up through Europe. Saturday afternoon we went up to Tejeda - one of the most beautiful towns in Spain to spend the night.

Sunday was just below El Pico de las Nieves almost at the top of the island. A very quiet place, the cars that were there when we arrived had all gone by sunset and we were the only ones there all night

Monday we were in Agaete on the northern coast. No photos that day, then Wednesday we jumped on the ferry to Fuerteventura. We slept at Las Playitas. This picture is from my morning walk.

We are now in Gran Tarajal and will stay the night. We visited the salt museum this morning, on the way here. Very interesting indeed.

The difference in Scotland is massive!

We could not walk between our trees at this time of year, without wading through high undergrowth.

Have chatted with a camper who had winter in the Canary Islands .

Also a guy who lived there, he spoke of fuerteventura was quite a windy island?

Barriesimpson do you know Casa Martell, in Santa Brigida? If so is as good as it was twenty years ago when Liz & I used to visit my brother who lived in Montaña la Data for a few years and travelled to the north of the island occasionally for a meal.

I do know it but have not been there for over 100 years so I'm afraid I cannot tell you. But the new 'in' place for a great piece of meat is Asador Las Lilas in Carrizal in front of the airport. Not cheap, but quality food never is.

Yes, very flat and very windy, but the best beaches in the world if that's your thing. I like the cheese - queso Majorero - has won many world titles and really is the best cheese you have ever tasted.
