Hi , Looking for the above recommendations for easy access to towpath etc , prefer areas south of Stoke on trent / Nottingham , Obviously we are starting from Cornwall heading towards the Thames & Kennet canal , Bath area then heading north-ish via Devises

There’s a CCC site just off the M42 at Kingsbury Water Park which I’ve used for the NEC. Very short walk to Birmingham & Fazely Canal and decent canal side pub - Dog & Doublet.
Have you visited Minnows Touring Park on the Grand Western (Tiverton) Canal? canal side walks - facilities to launch a canoe/boat.

Do you need facilities?

Lovely no facility CL in a village called Hassal Green near Alsager. Just north of SOT.
Right on the tow path, can walk or ride to the amazing harecastle tunnel..

Best I have

Stayed at Braunston marina a few years back and enjoyed the canal walks and having a nose round the marina. It is in Leicestershire, so geographically fits your criteria.

Geoff

West of SOT, between Nantwich and Audlem, Overwater Marina, lovely site, cafe and you can walk to Audlem locks. May be to far West for you.

If you include pub type park ups the Somerset Arms at Semington is on the Kennet and Avon Canal. Similarly the Dockers Club at Sharpness (£5 per night and cheap beer!) for the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal. If you want a campsite on the same canal then a few miles further along is Tudor Caravan Park at Slimbridge.

Somerset Arms now permanently closed but the barge. The magpie both take vans on the K&A

In Devizes the marina car park is free between 6pm and 8am then down to the locks for £3.00 for 23 hours but no overnight but I was told by locals vans often overnight there

Stoke Bruerne is a lovely village on a lock ,,,, there is a cl alongside the canal although no direct access (2 min walk) , 2 pubs, I think The Navication Inn, which is next to the cl, allow overnights , Indian restaurant, canal museum, boat trips into canal tunnel.

You can stay at the Dog & Doublet also. Devizes C&CC site, Caen Hill Locks.

The Anchor Inn Staffordshire, just a few miles from Newport Salop. There is a CL and a small commercial site.

I'm hoping to cycle all canals possible for no other reason than just because.
Find though some towpaths aren't very well maintained and others are brilliant so please do keep the spots coming could do with some more not part of clubs or off grid please
The more budget busting the better so I can then have the treat of a small site every now and again

Avon Bank @Wyre Piddle, nr, Pershore, where we run the Easter and Plum rallies.

Don’t know when you’re travelling but this
CCC THS is very near the canal

We stayed there , was a fantastic little site and Pershore is a lovely town , some great cider houses round there too .

Dovesite in Melbourne is nice and close to the canal towpath or the Cloud trail. They have a CL next to a larger site, grass only on the CL.

We are on a canal side pub car park just south of Leek, the Boat Inn. Just south of us is the Holybush again a canal side pub.
Were we are is a great location just across the road from the Churnet Valley Railway station at Cheddleton. Nice pub with excellent food and drink.
The flint mill is an easy walk one way along the towpath as we did this morning.
Canal stop overs are good for us because the tow paths make easy walking for our lazy old muttly.

Canal side caravan site, Grindley Brook, A41 just outside whichurch,

Brecon C&MHC site almost adjacent to Brecon and Mon canal with 36 miles of towpath.

Whitehall farm in Northampton field right on canal
pub nearby and only a little walk to weedon bec for some history
