enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
Had anyone any first hand experience of an Itineo RC740 please? We weren't really looking to change our Adria 670SLT after having spent a fair amount on upgrades, but the Itineo caught my eye. i know its the budget range from Rapido, but if the build quality is just as good, we could be tempted.

looking to go up to around 70K IF we do change .....

Thanks

We have a 2022 160BHP Auto Itineo SB740 Spirit Edition, we have had it almost 3 years. I would say the build quality is reasonable, at least on a par with anything produced by most of the Trigano group or other mid-range manufacturers.

We have had a few niggles, leak from the inspection hatch of the freshwater tank, a poorly fitted window that had a slight leak & some minor trim issues which were fixed without issue under warranty. In the main, the internal woodwork is strong & uses decent quality plywood, although some areas (such as shelves) are a bit on the flimsy side presumably to save weight. No doors have fallen off or needed adjusting. The windscreen has a curtain rather than blinds which I regard as a bonus.

Access under the bonnet for even routine service items such as oil filler cap is very poor & it helps if you can persuade water to flow uphill when topping up the screenwash. The 'floppy ears' mirrors provide a limited rearward view and don't provide as much adjustment as I would have liked, although the rear camera is ok for reversing.

It has one or two rattles & squeaks on our potholed roads, which I have ben unable to track down as my copilot refuses to drive it as at 7.4m it's 'too big' to allow me to locate the source of noise.

I would say that it is comfortable, roomy and light inside. The 9speed auto makes it easy to drive. It is booked in for the gearbox 'software' update later this week.

SInce the warranty ran out, we have had to have an exchange Truma Combi 6E fitted, an LED marker light replaced and the engine oil pressure sensor replaced (at no charge thanks to FIAT customer service) but I don't think they could be blamed on Rapido.

Thanks, it's a 2020 so I'm hopeful that any niggles have been sorted by now. Anything I should be looking for ?

Nothing springs to mind in particular.

The Itineo A-Class range had a facelift in 2021-2022(not sure exactly when) so your target could be a pre-facelift, I doubt it would have much impact on the build quality. I believe the pre-facelift vehicles have 3 windscreen wipers, the later ones only have 2; which reminds me the 2 wipers on our van are pretty poor, and don't cover the full width of the screen. Also forgot to mention the headlights could be better.....a man with a torch walking in front would provide a better view.

Watch out for payload, we run 'lean and mean' with just the two of us at 3500kg as I gave up my C1 licence at 70 for medical reasons. When we took grandchildren with us we usually took a car too (driven, not towed).

We are downsizing to a panel van conversion soon as we don't really need the space anymore and my wife finds the Itineo too big for her to handle. I shall be sorry to see it go, a feeling I have not experienced with any of our previous 6 motorhomes.

It's a facelift going off your info re the windscreen wipers. The trade in for our Adria that we were offered doesn't make it a viable option BUT I think we are going to see it anyway, just in case its worth digging into our savings....

Just spent some time looking over YouTube etc and the more we see, the more we like the one we're considering. It's actually a pre facelift model so, three windscreen wipers, which we can check re how much they clear when we view.
Might test the water and put our Adria up for sale over the weekend as the trade in we were offered won't make it a comfortable change financially ....

We went to view yesterday at Brownhills, it's a nice motorhome but the difference between what they offered us part ex and what they want for it doesn't make it a sensible purchase for us.

Had some desirable features but they weren't on the absolutely necessary 'list', as we have those features in a similar fashion anyway.
The island bed was a big plus as was the bigger garage, surprisingly one thing we really liked was the split table, but I wouldn't change motorhomes just for that!

SWMS has asked that the resource manager spends some time trying to see if I (oops, I mean the resource manager) can source a folding and sliding table top for our Adria !!!

So, we're happy with what we have and now looking for more stuff to add, rear air suspension is the next project, once I've finished off a couple of outstanding jobs, though I will start trying to resource a folding table top asap!
