Hi all,

Firstly thanks to everyone sending a friendly welcome to us on this site 🤗. Lots of characters I can see from up and down this lovely country paving the way for lighthearted conversation 😊

Before we head off to Spain we will be experimenting on a few quiet sites here in UK and keep our 🤞 that the 3 dogs will enjoy life on the road.

Is there anyone out there that could recommend a campsite either near Biarritz or just over the border in Spain that would be open around 30/31 Dec this year?

Not a full campsite but we stayed on the Camping-Car Park at Labenne on our way to Spain last year. It’s a little north of Biarritz but quite handy. Not too much open in the town in January.

Larrouleta Urrugne open all year about 10 minutes from Spanish border 18€ in acsi book
Just left that site. Excellent large site with differing size pitches and dogs. ACSI 20eur.

Thanks guys for info. Looks a great site especially as we may be there for NYE 🤔. Also is there anywhere nearby to let dogs off the lead?

Looking at that for our return leg in December. Hoping that side of France will be warmer than the more easterly routes.

Anybody know if the Larrouleta campsite is on a bus route to Biarritz?

Would have thought so but it's quite a long way on the town roads. Takes ages in van if you don't use toll road

Yes it is, at the junction with the main road. Stops either side of the road at the actual T junction to campsite. Get off the bus by the train station as you cross the river into St Jean de Luz and I think you can catch a bus from there to Biarritz. Or the train or the same bus may go all the way there? You can go to the Spanish border in the other direction to Hendaye.

PS just looked on Google maps and it looks like bus 3 goes all the way along the coast in both directions but whether it goes into Biarritz town centre I’m can’t see.

Thank you, that’s really helpful.
