Campsite life!!!!!

We both use about same water at home as on road.
I use much more in conventional showers - I like the luxury of a long soak. We don't have to wipe ours down either - it's of similar size to a domestic cubicle - and our tank holds 220 litre or 5 days worth. I was simply pointing out that all caravans collect water in 40 litre barrels (no doubt there are some exceptions) and the vast majority of caravans and motorhomes have less showering room than you or I. Hence the use of site showers. It is only with this most recent van that I have a large enough tank and a totally separate and roomy shower.

I always wonder with the chairs behind the windbreak mob what's the big deal haven't they got grass and a chair at home? Maybe I'm missing something but I just don't get it.
I get your point but ours stops our dog hurtling towards other dogs/bitches.Also stops the wind blowing out the bbq.

They're good reasons. I do struggle a bit with the windbreaks thing but I really meant the people on site who seem to spend all day either fettling the awning/watering can/ waste hog/toilet or in a sun lounger and never seem to leave the site.

I slept in a tent in 2019 for the first time in 15 years

a mate rang up , can you get thurs fri and mon off work

suppose so , why

my wife is ill so there‘s a free place at the IOM TT if you want to come

oh yes

it’s camping

oh no

but I’d always wanted to go so I suffered it , and it was as bad as I remember it , rugby club , camping on the pitches

what I wasn’t expecting was communal rugby club showers , they’d hung shower curtains so you had some privacy, I managed to do everything I needed in that 3ft square space , in, undressed, showered, dried ,clothed , out

2nd morning I wasn’t so fortunate , walked in to find an exhibitionist drying himself , let’s just say he couldn’t have been much happier

morning 3 I discovered a portakabin shower block and a lump of wood to block the door , sorted

Why is it people with onboard facilities don’t use them. Surely in this day and age 99% of motorhomes and caravans are self contained. Toilet blocks should only be for campers. One of my pet hates people walking about campsites in dressing gowns. Each to there own.
We use our own facilities because I'm not fond of using shared facilities..
But I find people walking about in PJs and dressing downs cute...

Not just on sites.
pulled into a car park this morning, which has designated MH spaces. They all had MH’s in and all parked within bays etc etc All good and absolutely no problem👍
what did make me smile, is that the owners where all outside their MH’s walking about in their PJ’s and dressing gowns!
everyone to their own I guess, but really, in a public car park?

We work on a site but don't use the facilities. Can't see the problem with the dressings gown lot, your not going to get dressed to go to the showers just to please all those that don't want to see you.

We've a lot of seasonals in caravans and most have mains rigged up to the water rolls so don't have to fill them up, still find most use the site facilities though.

We've found this last few weeks during the week when we have more, let's say older customers, the showers are far less being used, so either using their own or not bothering with shower.

Now must get ready to go clean the loos people don't clean up after them selves.

Happy Wednesday everyone

Shawn

I’m sure a lot of people need a windbreak for a lot of reasons, but I can’t see the point of sitting behind one enclosed between windbreak and van, not seeing out at view or people watching.
it’s also amusing to just see the top of people’s heads as you walk past!

I've just got back from Highlands end in Dorset. Lovely site. I put some wind breaks up, coz it gets bloody windy.
Can't see the problem with using the facilities if you want! Unless you have a Mahoosive motorhome, I find the showers cramped. Each to their own.
Hi Jess,I’m off to Highlands End on Sunday,,what’s it like?

This is true with many , why you see motorhomes with very few miles on them, the motorhome is the holiday not a means of being somewhere else for a proper holiday. Might not be their holiday as such, probably jet off for that.
The motorhome is just that , a hobby maybe only 20 miles from home but somewhere to mess with it, probably in a compound somewhere for 99% of its time.
Please don't think I am knocking this , it's their MH they can do what they like with it,
Pretty much the same as tractors with me.
But it does seem a waste of a good MH.

Hi Wabs, Its a great setting, right on the coast, brilliant views. If you have a dog, Theres a dog walking field.
Short walk down to dog friendly beach and to West bay, (Not dog friendly)
Be warned though! Off site and If you like walking, its hilly😀
If you want to use the facilities they were clean.
Its high up on the cliff, so does get windy! We didnt fancy cooking or going out one night, so used The on site Restaurant. Not a massive choice, but ok for a site.
I would go back👍
