Hi
We would like recommendations for a campsite somewhere in france.
The campsite needs to do a mix of plots for tents and motorhomes but also have chalets or pods for non camping members of the family.
Preferably near to a good restaurant for the celebration dinner (walking distance would be amazing)
As some if not most will be flying so near to an airport.
I really appreciate any and all recommendations as the only campsite we have been on is in Carcassonne which was fabulous but still want some more options.
Age range is from 15 to 65.
Time of year is late June early July.

We earmarked lake Annecy as a potential for similar. Except renting a house for the non campers. Some good campsites along the lake but not sure if any have pods etc.

When we stayed there over 30 years ago it was lovely! Nearest airport is La Rochelle but only has limited open period for UK flights. Bordeaux is better but is at least 90 minutes down the A10 and the traffic can be horrendous. Niort is over 2 hours north.

Camping Bordeaux Lac would tick all your boxes and is probably well suited to large gatherings making a bit of noise?

Throwing something we had perused into the equation.

Rent a chateau for a week, there will be members of the group who may prefer luxury and you can get )or did about 5 years ago, 20 odd bedrooms for 4,000 a week which may not be too far off camping prices.

We have stayed here several times, has everything your after including its own winery! After sampling them all you can bring your empty water bottles or whatever to the winery reception for a refill at very reasonable prices! 🤣 located in South of France so always nice weather, has many good restaurants close by but also in camp has everything from fast food to al a carte, it has tent spaces, motorhome pitches, cabins, tree huts, luxury chalets you name it
Nearest airports Beziers or Montpellier

Try this site, it’s big and has really large pitches to suit all. Added bonus it has a lovely restaurant in the next village that’s 10 minutes walk.

Hello everyone
Again thank you for the info unfortunately none of them worked out in this instance.
We decided because of airlines cancelling flights this summer we would not risk our big birthday bash.
The option we went for was a cruise out of Southampton up to Norway and back again on the cunard ship Queen Anne.
We have used cunnard before and are very happy with our decision.
It does mean we come back from France, park at Southampton docks for a week do the cruise and then head back to France but its all travel which we enjoy.
The only issue we have is we will have to carry DJ'S in the motorhome for the cruise as they have 2 gala nights whichever require the smart attire. (I hate wearing a dj but phils sister insists we dress up) my brother has agreed to one night only in smart attire, the rest of the week he will be dining in the pub section of the ship in his Newcastle shirt 😁😁 you have got to love family.

After numerous cruises and seeing what Americans think is suitable formal wear he would be overdressed in that😂😂😂

TBH we do a cruise or two a year on Cunard (doing one alone in Sept, and one with family in Feb), the DJ comes with terrority, and on average you only have 2 dress up nights per week onboard. We cheat a bit though and go and get changed after we've done dinner if we are not partaking in the shows in the theatre, or the queens room (where a DJ is still required), as we have found we usually prefer the pub on a formal night (where the dress code does not apply, so it's far less busy).. On several cruises there was an entire cohort of us all being dressed up for a few hours for dinner, and then relaxing in non-formal gear in pub literally 10 mins later - it' really depends what they put on the Theatre/Queens room those nights to as to what we wear.

We also do that on "normal" nights too, just have a polo on for dinner, and change into a less formal football shirt if there is a match on in the pub. Cunard is a cruise for all these days, there is usually a group doing similar to your brother. I would personally reccomend eating in main dining all the time as the food is generally the best on the ship (they are very attentive to us as we both have diatary requirements that are unusual). Good tip is contary to what people think, you can sometimes get them to give you an allocated table even at lunchtime if you ask nicely (we had a nice window table for 12 of us on a long 20 night cruise every lunchtime) -> meaning you can just walk in... and there is no "dress code" other than no swimwear at lunch.

Only thing I'd say is be sure to evaluate if the drinks package right for you -> if you mostly drink beer it's cheaper really not to have the package, but if you have lots of cocktails and wine, you cannot fail to make it worthwhile. (also if you didn't know, owning 100 carnival group shares = around $250 of free credit on the ship for every sailing 14 nights or more, with around $100 for 7 nights) -> we've had more than teh shares cost in credits over the years we've been sailing.

Why do you have to take your own disc jockey, havnt they got one on the ship?
