First stop of summer trip and cant get in machine broken and Nodody answered phone.

Get large metal object.
Go to exit barrier
Put large metal object on the road over the sensor
(A steel bicycle may work, otherwise a road sign is good, a perfectly placed baking tray will also work)

Exit barrier will go up.
Go in through the out door (If anyone questions you, say you are British and the British drive on the correct side of the barriers , a comment which I'm sure will endear you to the locals.!)
Drive in and promise to pay when the machine works or they come to collect.

We had a situation where there was no power to the barrier. Just lifted it manually to exit. As with most CCP aires the entrance and exit uses the same barrier. We thought we might be thought to still be there but luckily our next stop was also CCP so obviously we couldn't be in two places at once.

Unusual for them not to answer the phone, they've always answered very promptly when I've ring with a problem

Rang the number on the board no answer. Drove a couple of miles to next village and on another ccp all sorted.

Remember a problem on a UK car park barrier. Some enterprising individual in the exit queue produced a socket set and unbolted the recalcitrant metal.

We have stayed on many CCP and over that time seen the exit barrier unbolted and placed on the floor when it has refused to open but if we have had any problems they have always answered the phone and know who was calling from the number registered
