Has anyone had any dealings with the Camping -car park for motorhome overnight parking. We are travelling to Spain and Portugal shortly and just wondered if it's any good as it's more french oriented.

It's a good system. Some sites are much better than others, as some have only just been taken over and still need updating. Also, bear in mind that they don't publish bad reviews so, if you want to guarantee a site being what you want, ask on here if anyone else has been. But, overall, well worth using :)

I signed up for it a few years ago (still valid, just checked) but we've never actually stayed on one - yet. To be honest there are enough ordinary Aires around at better prices (especially the free ones) although we have noticed more than a few are being taken over, probably easier for a local community to let them operate with improved facilities. We're planning a trip to Normandy in September and may just have a look. The principle advantage is that you can book ahead rather than hope there is room.

We use them regularly, both the classic CCPs (Aires) and the Campings de Mon Village, which are generally former municipal sites and in high season have toilets etc open (& are open to caravans & tents.)
We don’t book though, because to do so you have to buy the Pack’Privileges, an add on which costs €29 a year - we’re generally not in high season so haven’t needed to book.

They do publish bad reviews but usually wait until the complaint has been fixed.

We use them a lot and always leave a review. On the three occasions we have felt it appropriate to leave a “bad” review they have all been published. For example, we stayed on a site where the ground had been stabilised by using the metal grid system, infilled with gravel.

Insufficient gravel had been applied and the grids had moved. This led to, in our opinion, danger to people walking, especially in the dark. Our review did not appear for three months at which time it carried the reply that the grids had been relaid and the ground stabilised.

Another review where we stated that the Aire was overgrown and scruffy was published about six weeks later with the comment that the Aire operator had been contacted and the situation rectified.

Not so new now
We have found them excellent and very easy to use. They are predominantly across France with very few outside the country.

Definately worthwhile, good value and always clean working services.
They only have a couple of sites in Portugal, I stayed at the one in Pinhel which was good value at 6 euro inc ehu last autumn.
Attractive village and nice walk up to the castle.
Most of their sites are in France but if you're driving down that way it's sooo much easier to use CCP than the effort required to book into a french campsite.

Gotta say i really do like their sites - used them quite a few times now. The last was on the way back through France in July, we had an issue where the system wouldnt read the card, we used the help faccility call feature built into the terminals, a man remotely took over the screen for us and asked us to do a few different things - no success. So he simply activated a new card which came out of the terminal, asked us the number of the card to verify.... Job done. really helpful
