Greetings everyone

I am lucky enough to be staying in Biaritz at the Milady CCP. There appears to be conflicting information as to how long we can stay. We are in one place told 21 days in a 30 day period and another saying 48 hours max and yet another 72 hours.
I don't want to fall foul of any rules; any firm advice would be appreciated.
Cheers all.

If it's not full, I can't see them turning you out.
But if you are worried about it you could phone them.

Translation of rules.. no mention of length of stay ..

Having regard to the General Code of Local Authorities. Considering the development of the CAMPING-CAR PARK area in the municipality of Biarritz. Considering that it is up to the Mayor to take all necessary measures to prevent accidents and to safeguard the good order, safety, health and tranquillity of everyone. Considering that the management of customers, for the collection part of stays, management of reservations and promotion is done by the company CAMPING-CAR PARK.

GENERAL

Article 1

Parking in the CAMPING-CAR PARK area of <> is authorised all year round for motorhomes and autonomous vans. Cars and trucks fitted out, non-autonomous and not approved by the Regional Directorate of Industry, Research and the Environment (D.R.I.R.E), in habitable recreational vehicles, are not accepted on the area (Ref: Order of June 7, 2002 on the presentation of the risks of fire, explosion and asphyxiation in recreational vehicles). Tents, caravans, trailers and any towed vehicle are not accepted. In the event of an offence, Article 322-4-1 of the Criminal Code will be applied (seizure and confiscation).

Article 2

The CAMPING-Car Park area includes 32 pitches.

Article 3

The rates and the tourist tax are validated by the community. Two rates are in force: up to 5 hours of presence, all services included (water, electricity, drain). Beyond 5H, a 24H rate is applied.

RULES OF USE

Article 4

To access the area, a personal STEPPASS card is mandatory and entered in the name of the main driver. Only one PASS'ETAPES card per vehicle is accepted. This PASS'ETAPES card is valid for life. Distributed by the payment machine, it allows access to all the destinations of the CAMPING-CAR PARK and CAMPING DE MON VILLAGE network. To obtain this card, it is mandatory to enter your surname, first name and mobile phone number (to be contacted in the event of an alert). A personal account, associated with an email address, allows the user to view his payment receipts and invoices. Different reloading methods are possible: on payment machines, on the internet, by phone, money order, mail (checks and holiday cheques). All stays of more than 3 days must be paid in advance. Customers must badge at the entrance and exit even if the barrier is open. In the event of a malfunction, it is imperative to call CAMPING-CAR PARK customer service located in Pornic (44) at 01.83.64.69.21 (open 7/7d).

Article 5

Pets are allowed, but will have to be tied. Their faeces must be picked up by their owners. The owners will ensure everyone's tranquillity.

Article 6

Electric barbeques are not allowed. Open-fire barbeques (wood, charcoal, etc.) are prohibited. In the event of a fire, notify emergency services immediately (112 or 18).

Article 7

Grouping is prohibited between 10 p.m. and 9 a.m. Unpacking and tents are not allowed on the area. Customers will have to respect each other and observe a perfect correction with regard to the neighbourhood (noise and sanitation).

Liability

Article 8

Each customer is responsible for the state of cleanliness of the location where he is parked. Household waste, waste of any kind and papers must be deposited in the garbage cans. Wastewater discharges are prohibited on the sites. Checks will be carried out.

Article 9

Customers are required to respect the rules of good conduct: parking on a single location and the use of a single electrical outlet per location.

Article 10

Traffic and parking inside the area takes place at the risk and peril of vehicle drivers who retain custody and responsibility as on a public road. The resulting parking and traffic constitute a simple authorisation and shall in no way constitute a custody or surveillance deposit contract. The municipality or company CAMPING-CAR PARK cannot be held liable. Any customer parked in the area is responsible for the damage he causes or is caused by people for whom he must answer, as well as by the animals or things he has in his custody. He will therefore be required to make full compensation for the corresponding damages. Consequently, each customer must individually ensure compliance with the facilities and remains responsible for the damage he causes.

Article 11

Each customer must have his account sufficiently recharged to settle his stay and must imperatively badge at the entrance and exit of the area. Any small train or fraud will be sanctioned by a flat-rate fine voted by the Municipal Council.

Article 12

The municipality of Biarritz or the company CAMPING-CAR PARK may temporarily close the area for maintenance or maintenance as well as for reasons of force majeure, safety or general interest.

Article 13

Checks may be carried out by a representative of CAMPING-CAR PARK, the town hall, the gendarmerie or the municipal police. The latter will also be able to draw up minutes in the event of fraud. All offences (water theft, electricity theft, intrusion without a PASS'ÉTAPES card, etc.) of these rules of procedure will be noted and prosecuted in accordance with the laws and regulations in force. The theft is punishable by 3 years in prison and a fine of €45,000 (Article 311-3 of the Criminal Code).

We were there a couple of weeks ago, if you walk back to the entrance it will tell you there on the notice board. I read 48hrs max stay. Which is a pity, as it's a very useful stay, it being just a short walk down to the beach through the underpass, but it seems fair so as all those who would also like to stay get a chance. Carry on south, and turn left across the top of Spain, loads to see and do there.

Is there anything to say you can't just pay up and come off but then go back on again?

I was there last year and on the other Gabriel Dorzet aire a short distance away last month. I didn't notice a time restriction but then I didn't read the small print. However Article 4, among other things, says "All stays of more than 3 days must be paid in advance" which suggests that a longer stay is possible. The ethos of aires is, of course, intended for shortish stays and, IMHO, settling in for longer than say 4/5 days is a bit selfish/cheeky. Stays of longer duration are better suited to sites.

I thought Caen and Biaritz were the only two CCP sites you could not book in advance.

I'm interested to know if this place is worth the money versus a couple of ACSI campsites close by that are priced at 21 euros at the moment? Biarritz is definitely a destination for our forthcoming trip starting next week.

CCP and a campsite are quite different. No facilities (toilet/shower) at a CCP generally.

Is it worth it. That's up to you. We prefer them ( CCP) to camp sites ( usually) as we travel and you get electricity for the price. Camp sites can have more facilities, showers, toilets etc and you have to pay extra for electric on many.
6 euros different does that include lecy or is that another 5 euros. We use campsites if looking to stop more than a couple of nights. CCP if you don't leave after the stated time, ( different for different sites) ( days) charge €50 per extra night i believe in there t&c.

Thanks. That makes sense as I hadn't thought about the departure times. ACSI have 3 sites in and around Biarritz for 21 euros and that includes electric hookup. Certainly not a huge difference.

I was looking for a 3rd night only. :-)

It has suited us as it's really close to the beach and very clean public loos. 2 mile walk into the town centre.

I went to the local campsite as we have ASCI and I thought it was scruffy. Don't get me wrong this CC is quite basic but the proximity to the ocean makes it very special.

Update. After emailing CCP this morning and not getting a response I packed up and went to the very large Intermarché supermarket. I checked my phone on the way out and noted the following (see photo). So I came back and I have my third night.
I am confused but happy. (Maybe that's my future.)

To save moving the van, I wonder if having a metal tray to hold in front of any sensor would work to check out and check back in again. What sort of time lag would be required? Any volunteers to test the theory?

I tried this morning and it was fruitless. I went with two large pans and my CCP card. I danced in front of the barrier to no avail. I have failed
What is your next mission for me cyberyacht?

Next time try using a cows horn and chant a verse from ' I want to get out of this place' or even a song from hotel California. Oh and you must light a wax candle and place on top of the key pad.
