I'm a newbie
Good Afternoon,

We are looking at several short duration UK breaks this year. My question is it worth joining the CCC?
I know everyone will have a different take, but advice would be welcome.

I use them quite a lot. Worth it for the smaller 5 van sites. There are also a few internet places that you can search such as UK campsite and Search for sites to give an idea of what is around. Also a member of the CMC

Like you say, there will be lots of views (excuse the pun) but largely depends on what you want but I'd suggest just trying it for a year

Yes, I like the 5 van sites (Cs) & their Temporary Holiday sites (THS) which makes for very affordable camping.

we are a member of both, opens up more sites, the small cl's etc, what you save by being a member is easily dissipated over the course of a yr

We've been members of both but we prefer the Caravan and Motorhome Club. We like the CLs and some of the club sites. We also recommend the Red Pennant Holiday Insurance.

There are significant reductions for members over 60 staying at C&CC sites.

And has been mentioned, the Temporary Holiday Sites are great value, especially in mid-summer.

And the 5-van CS sites are good too.

We are members of both big clubs, but I have a marginal warmth more towards C&CC. Having said that the CMC sites are generally of very good quality - though not cheap.

Give the C&CC a try for a year and see how you get on... (y)

the c &mc sites tend to be a little bit nicer, just a bit, but not much difference other than what has already been mentioned by us and others

We've been members of CCC for more years than I care to remember! We use mainly the CSs (5 van sites); Local DA meets and THSs in the summer.

We weren't keen on the CAMC and didn't bother renewing. Never seemed to be able to get in on the CLs we phoned and the one rally we went on we found it too regimented and don't really like having to book and pay in advance.

We are members of both and find both have a good choice of sites, also with the discounted rate for being a member as well as the extra benefits for example go outdoors give you another 10% off when you show your membership they cover the cost for us anyway.
