Just wondering if anyone can enlighten me on what the new Road Tax costs will be on a Campervan under 3500kg, for example a VW transporter , Vauxhall vivaro or transit van conversion type vehicle ( NOT a motorhome per say)
Thanks

Under 3500kg and not classified as an Motorhome is basically treated the same as a car - so based on emissions. You need to check up on some specific versions but it can vary from van-to- van- even within a model, due to variations in the engines etc.

If you can look up the emissions for a specific model of van you’re interested in, the rates are here: https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables/rates-for-cars-registered-on-or-after-1-march-2001

Alternatively finding one on Autotrader etc with the same engine, and the site will usually show you the relevant rate.

Taxed my Vivaro at £335, back in April, this is not a camper just a van.
My Fiat Motorhome was £325 back in February, they used to be the same.

Taxed my Bailey recently, DVLA charged me £345 for permission to take the vehicle on the highway for the next twelve months. 😏
(Motorhome not Campervan though)

no science to any of it

One of my T5’s was classed as a car, the other an MPV.

My PHGV Euro III motorhome is £165 a year, my Euro IV car is £745.

My sprinter van is £335 a year as a Euro V But had it been bought in a different year, same Euro V Engine I think is £140 a year.

2020 Kia Picanto 1L …………………..£180
2013 Ford Fiesta 1.25L ……………….£20
2016 Ford Fiesta 1.0L………………….£0
2016 BMW X4 2.0L…………………….£140
2016 Fiat Ducato Motorhome 2.3L…..£165……3.7t PHG Class

Do as the Government do and throw 3 darts at the dartboard, whatever score you get that’s what your road tax will be.
