Hi has anyone used B and Qs 18mm furniture board as I have a budget to stick too
Or any other suggestions please

Campervan furniture is normally made of light weight board. It's far lighter and stiffer than particle board used in domestic furniture. A few square metres of the stuff for walls and cabinets and you've piled on the weight very quickly. It's roughly 6kg per m2 Vs 12 kg per m2.

In my early VW conversions, I used marine ply, usually better wood and not affected too much by damp.
Yes expensive at the beginning but worth it.

5ply for structure, 3 ply for cladding.

As it's ply, it rarely twisted later.

Keeping the weight down is going to be more of a consideration than cheapness when trying to stay under 3500kg. Greg Virgoe on YT is a good place to see options , and Mels big van small world

Most vans have cabinets made of 15mm board, the best being Vohringer board, it’s expensive but much lighter than covered ply.
If you plan to do the usual type of wooden clad and cupboard van then you may well go over the 3500kg overall weight/payload so go for as light a construction as possible.
Even though it is expensive consider frames made with Aluminium 20x20,you can make anything with it and it’s very strong. A fellow Funster made bench seats which convert to a double bed for our van and its strong as the iron frame it replaced and 80kgs lighter!
take a look at Humble road on utube George is a master at using 20x20

I used 12mm oak faced ply with a corner trim and all painted in farrow and ball furniture paint.A bit more work but a lot cheaper than using the light weight boards converters use and not much heavier ,I have about 700kg pay load.
I have just taken this pic a moment ago and my conversation is in its 6th season now and holding up well, I lived full-time in the van for over 2 year and go away for months each winter so happy with the result.
Good luck with your conversion.
