We are off to Spain at the end of March. Does anybody know if the camperstop Càmping Sol de Calp Austral in Calpe is still open please? We stayed there last year. The other camperstops owned by this business in Calpe had closed to make way for apartment blocks and I wonder if this one has befallen that fate.

Edit. To be clear I am not referring to the campsite Camping Calpe Mar further along the road. Their pitches are too small for us.

i think camping mediterraneo is still open

peterc10 - think Astral looked open when we were in Calpe last week 👍 as was Mediterraneo & Paraiso, the campsite opposite Aldi was in the final stages of being demolished 😞, and another campsite near Lidl was closed. Lots of building work ongoing with several high rise luxury apartment blocks being constructed, quite a bit of building noise

The part with the bar and swimming pool was closed last year and they were building on it. Only the part nearer to the main road was open last year.
Looks like it's still open it's a good spot not to far to the old town or beach, the other camper stops are a bit far out.

Looks like we won't get away until mid April now, just had a call from the hospital I can get the OP on my hand done on 27th March.

Hi Harvey, let us know if you hear anything. We will probably in the area by 6th or 7th April. May stay for a short while at the Moraira car park just along the coast

Not quite sure when we will be there yet Peter, probably a similar time as you… Will keep you posted! 👍🏻

We’re at Moraira now and will pass Austral on friday morning, I’ll try and look and let you know if you still need to know 👍

What’s the Moraira park up like Al? Is it the rough ground car park near the harbour? Have you a google pin you can share please, assuming it’s any good? 👍🏻

EDIT: sorry was thinking of Denia 🙃 Be good to have the pin though! 👍🏻

No it’s the big market carpark Harvey, we really like it here mate, there is a German pillock with his chairs out and I feel like knocking him out of it tbh.

There’s also some waste land behind it which is nice and flat but looks like they’ve had some rain and it’s got a few puddles here and there

It’s a lovely spot and a little bit upmarket

I’m at the blue spot and here it is

We always park on the rough ground behind. Not bad as long as it has not rained heavily, then it will be claggy. Otherwise you are in danger of being moved on early for the Friday market. The other problem is that there is not any clean water and have to sneak in to the leisure centre toilets, if they are unlocked, which is not very often.
