Camper van travel destinations

I hope to learn more about some of the forums favorite destination in Switzerland and Austria. I will be traveling alone in a mini van. Once I learn my destinations I will plan the best route. I am most interested in quiet, private spots to stay a night or two - then move on. Specific routes/highways are also appreciated. I am looking for all of natures spectacular beauty like of us. Thank you for your help!

Follow some of the great rivers, Donau (Danube) or Rhine.

Welcome! Switzerland specifically forbids off-grid camping, you have to use campsites or designated areas (aires) for MHs which a few places like restaurants offer. You might get away with the odd night tucked away somewhere quiet but the Swiss are a very law-abiding folk and someone might report you. Switzerland is stunning but your wallet will suffer.

More scope in Austria. I use the app CamperContact to find places to stay, it lists sites, aires and car parks which allow MHs and campervan to stay overnight. There are other apps such as Park4Night and Search Sites, all have their devotees.
