Dear guest, good afternoon!
My name is Aleksey, Ukraine, Nikolaev
I think you heard what we have going on ... I want to thank you and your government for supporting us in this war
In this regard, I thought about buying a camper. Naturally, I also looked at German ones, but I decided to stop at your manufacturers. Why - I like your layout. (please check attachment)
I ask for your advice - I decided to stop at the kepmer Coachman Pastiche 560
Reading your forums for two weeks, I thought that this is the best quality manufacturer in Britain
I would like to hear the opinion of gentleman exploiting this device
Thanks

You are looking at a caravan not a motorhome that this site is dedicated to.

Yes this is a motorhome forum but most of the motorhomers on here had a caravan before or even have one now so I would imagine you will get some advice on here, as for your choice I don’t know much about them but being a “British” make the insulation may not be up to standard for European travels if you intend to use it in the winter months..

Good luck on your choice and I hope things get better soon for you out there….😎

Hi Smiffy, do you mean thermal insulation? But, I hope we will restore my apartment before next winter. Otherwise, there seems to be no problems - only sockets ..
My house..

Yes I mean thermal insulation….

Seems you have a few household renovations and a bit of decoration to be done on your house before getting a caravan but you could always live in the caravan while it’s being done… presuming the flats will be there at the end of this destruction your country is experiencing… I hope you and your loved ones are safe…😎

So is it a caravan your looking for, or a motorhome ?
Either way I hope you get some useful information.
There's a lot of goodwill and love for all things Ukraine with whats happening in your country and I'm sure you will pick up on that reading the forum.
As a guest you only get 5 free posts, then you need to pay 20 GBP to be able to post more. If it's really a caravan you want this may not be worthwhile ?
I hope you can stick around and let us know first hand whats happening in Nikolaev.
I also hope you can get your appartment repaired.
Slava Ukraine, glory to the heroes (y)

No, we will definitely not spend the winter in it.
Thank you, me and my family are alive

Dear Figaro, Hello!
As for life in Nikolaev, on February 24, 5 in the morning, I found myself in the road - I went on a business trip to Kremenchug to the Danone plant (I am a mechanic, we are engaged in servicing PET compressors). On the way, after 50 kilometers, a friend started calling me, then my mother, and then my wife. Everyone woke up from the first explosions that the Russians inflicted on a military airfield in my city (there, at the Soyuz, my father, an onboard engineer of IL-62, served).
I could not believe what had happened and turned around and went back. There were already huge traffic jams at the exit - everyone was trying to leave the city, there were huge queues at the gas station.
Arriving at the gas station - well, the tank of my Audi was full, I took a couple of bottles of vodka, two blocks of Marlboro - then they came in handy
The problem was that my house was on the outskirts of the city, closer to Kherson, and when the Russians took Kherson, active shelling of Nikolaev was received. They winged as much as possible - and artillery, and rocket attacks, Grad, Tornado .., and aviation. All this flew, including to ordinary residential microdistricts - to courtyards, schools, kindergartens, although at that moment there were no our troops there, ordinary civilians. But as everyone argued - they won’t fly to us, don’t fly to us ... But as soon as it arrived in any yard, in the morning people loaded the car, the family, and left the city. I moved to my mother (she lives further away, but in the same area), and all March, while the orcs were standing near Nikolaev, you could see arrivals every hour - I went out to the balcony - Grad missiles go through you, you brew coffee in a kilometer, shells burst .. Of course, the female psyche, especially my wife, could not stand it - eternal screams, nerves ... And then they also banned the sale of alcohol)))
In March, I went to the military registration and enlistment office, but since I have asthma, they didn’t take me, and my specialty was not very interesting at that time - an aircraft engine technician (such is my diploma)
In general, shelling continued 10-15 times every day, and when the next time it flew into my yard, we went to the dacha (I don’t know what you call it, it’s a small plot of land with a small house, they were given even under the Union)
I am not talking about burnt houses, broken cars and fires - although everyone was afraid of a fire after being hit - so that there would be an opportunity to leave a 9-story building.
After April, our troops entrenched themselves on the border of the Nikolaev and Kherson regions, and daytime shelling decreased, although not always. But at night they bombed constantly. During the day, there were more than 10 arrivals during working hours at public transport stops, there were both dead and wounded. So Nikolaev lived until November, until the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated Kherson - after that the last arrival was around New Year - December 31, Thank God without a death
Somehow like this...

Now Ochakov (this is a city on the Black Sea coast in the Nikolaev region) is being shelled very actively, and Kherson is being shelled very heavily. The orcs retreated to the other side, and there the distance is about a kilometer, and they are bombing, including from tanks and mortars. Every day in Kherson, 3-5 dead civilians
In Nikolaev, sea water is now flowing from a tap (the water conduit was killed during shelling, and our local assholes do not move). Well, Denmark has come to the rescue and is installing drinking water points.

I understand that you, or your colleagues/friends, may have encountered negativity from the citizens of my country, but believe me, only women left for Europe - we have martial law and men 18-60 are not allowed to go abroad. Yes, there are rich, semi-deputies, and other assholes who left, but the main people are sitting at home.
Thanks anyway, and since this is my 5th post, I won't be able to reply to you again. I'm sorry, but 20 pounds is a whole 7 kg of beef, my wife will kill me)
In any case, if you have an opinion on a good dealer, conscientious and honest, I would like to hear the opinion of the community
Thanks, Glory to Ukraine
And sorry for my English - it's not perfect)

Although this is a Motorhome forum, some of us have caravans ;)
We have a Coachman Pastiche 460/2 which only suits 2 people. We are very happy with the quality. Ours is over 15 years old and everything still solid and in good working order. But Just smiffy is correct that it is not well insulated for cold weather.
There is a UK Caravan Forum which you may find useful and does not require payment.
Thank you for sharing your story with us, you are going through unbelievable horrors. We wish you good luck and Victory to Ukraine.

Jim

No need to offer complimentary membership, I'm happy to pay a years subscription for him.

Although this might not be the 'perfect forum' just being able tell his story might offer some sort of partial positive thoughts for the future.

Best wishes to all people living with the constant threat of war and oppression

Nikolaev.UA I hope you will take up the kind offer from MisterB and stay on the forum.
It's interesting to read your first hand account of how life is in Ukraine.
I hope you and your family stay safe and can keep warm until this nightmare is over for your country.
Don't worry about your English, it's far better than our Ukraine 😃

Guys, good evening
Sorry, we were once again bombed - as usual, there is no light and, accordingly, the Internet. And yes, mobile Internet - towers turn off half an hour after a power outage
Mister B hello! I thank you for this service - but let's be honest: if you paid for me, I want to reimburse your expenses, please send a personal message with your card number, I will transfer you 20. Understand correctly - I am over 40 years old , and I am not up to anyone still shouldn't.. If there was an opportunity to drink Chivas with you, it would be great))). Once again I ask you to send the card number - I am not a beggar, not a rogue, and I always cry for myself ..
I don't know what else to tell about our life.. As I said, in spring and until late autumn we were at the dacha - a small house with a plot of land. They planted tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs.. And you know, I liked it, even though I'm a city person. They also picked mushrooms, and how happy my cat was - I can’t convey ... (although during the shelling he was the first to learn to crawl on his belly)
Well, in general - at the dacha you worked as a woodcutter, in an apartment - as a water carrier (drinking water, tea, coffee, soup are always needed)

Hi Nikolaev.UA I'm so pleased your are now a full member and can continue to post updates for us on life in Ukraine.
There is no need for a card number, you have a complimentary membership as a gesture of goodwill and friendship so you can save your money to feed your family.
Can you get out of the city in spring to go to your dacha ? That sounds much the better option than staying in the city.
Stay safe, 👍

Yes, I understand, good night everyone. My English is bad, you're right - sometimes I use Google.
But if you want to see our life without talking - look at the attachment

Sometimes it’s just good to talk, it doesn’t have to be about caravans or camping cars. On this forum we talk about all manner of things about what is happening in our daily lives… most of it is just silly but I’m sure you can find some humour that may brighten your day…

Yes, I understand, thanks.
But, all this year, all the talk is only about the war. With everyone - friends, relatives, family. They Flipping ruined a third of my citizens' lives.

We are all worried about you all, but if you prefer a "normal" conversation without raising the subject of the war, we can do that too. Hanging onto that bit of normality is sometimes all that you have. Your hopes and dreams can never be taken from you

Most of us can only imagine what it must be like for you, and we probably don't begin to understand all the hardships and affect month after month of this conflict has on citizens.
But we all pray that after darkness, light will shine through for you.
There's lots of things on here to entertain and bring bit of relief so it's worth having a read of some of the threads which might take your mind off things for a while.
